Le Castle Vania has made his film scoring debut in the high energy fight scenes of Lionsgate’s recently released action thriller, John Wick starring Keanu Reeves. The recently released action packed film made it's debut this past weekend landing at number 2 on the box office charts and scoring a whopping 86% on the highly popular, film review aggregator website, Rotten Tomatoes.

Le Castle Vania contributed several pieces of original music written specifically for various high energy scenes in the film. The film score to John Wick also contains works from longtime LCV collaborators Tyler Bates and Joel Richards. All of these new pieces of music are available now on the soundtrack to John Wick. We highly recommend also checking out the film in theaters to get the full big screen experience! Enjoy!

This started out as an experiment to learn how to use a new keyboard, and the basic melodic line is based on Dave Brubeck's Blue Rondo a-la-Turk concept (though my pattern is 3-3-3-4), but I like how the flute takes control of the track.

Every track opens a different window into the long drive: the pale light of early morning, the strange little towns you’ll never visit again, the wild skies, the empty gas stations, the motel signs buzzing in the dark, and the quiet arrival at the edge of the ocean. Acoustic folk and retro pop blend with cinematic post-rock, ambient jazz, disco, and field-recorded textures. It’s not about the destination. It’s about all the miles that change you on the way there.
