We started this new era for Guerrilla Records with reference number 34 and it couldn't be otherwise, this one is signed by Matt Correa. A reference that had been made for a long time but we did not decide to launch it, we still do not know very well why. 

After an almost forced stop after the hardest part of the pandemic and after putting order to the internal structure of our foundations, after a long wait, we are back stronger than ever. Mike Molina has arrived to Guerrilla Records marking style and good manners with a single that gives off funky and groove everywhere. Rogue character, resounding sound, downtempo pulse and a deep and striking voice reminiscent of American big bands.  A song that talks about a fast pace of life and how short time is when tasks pile up.

An ep produced by Matt Correa, who brings his wisdom to the genre.  Matt moves like a fish in water around funk, disco and downtempo, being these conducting cables that usually link all of his productions.

This single is completed by the remix by Matt Correa. This embarks on a remix with a certain progressive touch and an increase in speed giving rise to a totally different atmosphere.

In this original we can find a combination of elements that are vaguely reminiscent of a House line developed during the 2000s. Infinite string samples that provide tension during the first half of the track, resulting in a stop where the loops are released showing the Full riff to undo accumulated tension.

The new one by Matt Correa sounds like electronic dance music and is made up of four songs produced over the last ten years. Dance electronics with indie dance and tech house nuances. A multitude of background sound effects create and narrate different day-to-day situations in an indirect way. Arpeggiated synthesizers, filtered chords, deep basses and rhythms with a certain disco touch.
A fairly complete ep in terms of stimuli of all kinds, where we can find the essence and style of Matt Correa, even leaving his comfort zone.

These four songs have been produced in Matt Correa's studio, which has changed over the years. Initially in 2013, these songs were meant to be played live with no intention of releasing them to the digital market. In 2015, a series of old synthesizers fell into the hands of Matt, a temporary loan from Ramon Navas “Flyfluss”, with which he configured a versatile set to compose and play live. Among them an Oberheim Matrix 6R, a Yamaha TG33 and an Emu Proteus World. All this on a stable base directed by an Akai MPC2500, Matt's faithful companion since the 2000s.
Matt later recovered these tracks and extracting anything salvageable from the original projects, he set out to update and release them all together as one ep, using his current studio setup, which is still under the control of two Akai mpc2500s and various synths and boxes. of rhythm. All this under the watchful eye of a Midas Venice F32 mixer. It is also common in his studio to find some Reel2Reel or an old Tascam M-208 that he uses to saturate signals and give color and texture to certain instruments.

Matt Correa releases "Cucarachas," the first single from his upcoming album

Matt Correa kicks off a series of releases that will culminate in his new album, scheduled to be completed in approximately 18 weeks. The producer presents “Cucarachas” (GRML049), the first single from a set of eight tracks that, at first glance, seem independent but actually reflect a period of intense creativity in his studio.

This period of inspiration coincides with significant changes in Matt Correa's life, including a move and the setup of a new studio, which created an ideal environment for production. During these months of seclusion, Matt worked on a series of projects that capture his emotions and experiences, resulting in a unique collection of tracks that flowed seamlessly, with one idea leading to the next.
"Cucarachas" is one of those special creations that, originally conceived for his live performances, gained popularity on the dance floor. This led Matt Correa to include it in his upcoming album. The track is characterized by its deep bass and solid rhythm, with sampled sounds from classic synthesizers like the JV2080 and sequenced with an Akai MPC2500, achieving an old-school vibe. After several bars, it surprises with a vocal sample mentioning the iconic "cucarachas," adding a distinctive touch to the track.
This single has undergone several previous versions, and what is presented today is the enhanced version 3.0. Additionally, there is a possibility of seeing remixes of this track in the near future, continuing its evolution.
