so this one afternoon i was playing guitar along with figure.09 and i was like damn i really want my guitar to sound THICC but for that i need to double track it so i was like fuck it i guess ill record one side and then play along to the other but then it took a long time to figure out the tempo and so by the time i recorded the first side i was like damn this sounds hella sick im gonna just might as well record the second side and then i was like what about if i made all the drums knock really hard and eventually i had just recorded a whole cover.

you know that movie "tick tick boom?" its like a lin manuel miranda netflix adaptation of a musical by the dude that wrote the broadway musical "rent". 

i had just watched that movie and as a result of the beautiful hollywood lovestoriness, i couldn't stop thinking about my ex relationship. 

there i was on the bleachers of glendale highschool walking back and forth thinking that my life was somehow incomplete cause i hadn't fulfilled this western social imperative of heterosexual relationship success. also, neither me nor my ex are cisgender so heterosexuality is just not something either of us can ever achieve which made it all the more frustrating that my brain. wouldnt. shut. UP!!!

i left the track trying to channel my frustration and despondence into something creative. i pulled open my voice memos and just started humming shit and trying to mouth words. 

i've been an angel numbers bitch for a while, but it really started to lock in when steven and i lived together nearly a year ago. i was walking and humming and saw a 222 on the license plate of a car. i knew it was gonna be okay.

i was sittin at the kitchen table while my partner and their friend hung out and chatted and made dinner. i didn't really know what to say, but it was all good vibes so i wanted to stay and hang. i put in my airpods on transparency mode and just started making as ridiculous a beat as i could and..... a few days later i had a song i liked. woops! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
