John Chamberlain's Involvement with Abstract Expressionism

During extended stays in the early 1960s in Paris and New York, On Kawara began to question the direction of his work. He even considered abandoning art to open a travel agency. A visit to the prehistoric cave paintings of Altamira, Spain, however, reinvigorated his practice.
