John Chamberlain's Involvement with Abstract Expressionism

A preeminent artist of the 20th century, Alberto Giacometti (1901–1966) investigated the human figure for more than 40 years. Featuring distinctive bronze sculptures and oil paintings, this comprehensive exhibition also includes drawings and works in plaster never before seen in the United States. “Giacometti” aims to provide a deeper understanding of this artist, whose intensive focus on the human condition continues to provoke and inspire new generations. The exhibition, a collaboration with the Fondation Giacometti in Paris, is on view at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum June 8–September 12, 2018.

These tracks feature insights from Megan Fontanella, Guggenheim Curator of Modern Art and Provenance, who cocurated this exhibition with Catherine Grenier, Director and Chief Curator of the Fondation Giacometti.
