As detailed in his interview with German publication Froh Froh, “the interview with Narciss was different. Colorful Hawaiian shirt instead of matt black, nicotine chewing gum instead of butt. In terms of content between kitsch, cutie, but also serious - no intrusive promo.”

This freshness truly comes across in his latest EP for Lobster Theremin. Dear Diary - releasing on June 4th - is an emotionally charged journey through smoked-filled rooms and packed-out corridors; lasers, strobes and wide eyes. As much a throwback to the golden era of trance as it is an ode to the producers techno aesthetic, it encapsulates an energy release - an escape from the grimness of the mundane, the fear of contemporary society left at the door as we venture further front left.

‘Ludmilla’ gets things started; a cut of tranced-out, progressive techno that builds and builds, emotional vocal stabs (“I need you”) further enhancing the connection between body and mind, listener and selector. ‘Tall People’ follows a similar route - deeper into the trance revival that has seen artists like Bliss Inc, New Members and Marlon Hoffstad producing some timelessly similar euphoria - it’s scenic techno, if the scene was an anime figure racing across a field on horseback.

The steady 4x4 rhythms are replaced on ‘It Gets Easier’; fast-paced sentiment that floats somewhere between breaks and garage, wrapped up in that signature trancey texture, before 'Blicke' featuring Ikki Mel shows us the door with a completely different take on the previous three moods; this time offering up an altogether harder showcasing of the rave sound with its classic synth stabs and uncompromising kicks.

Sincopat (@SINCOPAT) proudly welcomed back the Dutch maestro Tom Zeta (@tomzetasound) to the label after the great remix he did for us a few years ago, now to showcase a timeless EP/mini album that includes amazing remixes by Angelov (@angelovmusic) and Renato Cohen (@renato-cohen).

Tom Zeta is well known for his colourful and organic textures and Keep Them Coming is a good example of these. The talented Ukrainian artist Angelov masterfully reworks the tracks keeping the essence of the original but adding his own signature.

The catchy melody of Merry Go Round hypnotises you and transports you into Tom's complex and unique sound full of different influences. Meanwhile Renato Cohen delivers a another another dance-floor beast, transforming the original from a disco minimalism prism to drive you into a total madness.

Tom's drumming skills are embodied into Hi Hat, funky rhythms all around plus brillant synth programing make this song a exquisite piece of music.

Last but not least Woven Story closes the circle and acts like the perfect ending for this magical journey created with so much care and detail.

Hot on the heels of last year's Dear Diary EP on Lobster Theremin, explosive performances on HÖR and an intimate interview with celebrated German publication Groove Magazine, frequent Berlin & Leipzig DJ Narciss comes through with four deep and groovy cuts of bass-driven techno.

‘Feather Boa Constrictor’ features one of Copenhagen’s most exciting emerging producers in recent years - Vixen - fresh off her own acclaimed release, Hard Magik For Soft Souls, on Lobster Theremin in December. Now the pair link up on the DJ Mag Breakthrough Label of the Year imprint that blends all the best elements of the Berlin and Copenhagen scenes in a high-speed trip through psy-trance, synth-wave and techno.

Narciss is on his ones as we enter the A2; ‘Lovechild (Outrun Mix) is aptly named with its reference to the 1986 arcade game Outrun, which featured some of the best video-game music to ever be created. Deep basslines, swirling synth-stabs and a soothing deepness and contemplativeness that can only come with driving a virtual car down a never-ending highway.

‘Tokyo’ makes use of polyrhythms and textures blended with what sounds like an old Sampha record. It’s a wonderful combination of dark, deep and forward-thinking sound, before Copenhagen producer Repro comes through with a typically EBM-focused remix combining elements of every track.

Agents Of Time return to Afterlife with two heartrending audio expeditions.
Italian act Agents Of Time have established a sterling reputation over the years. Their mesmerising approach to club music blends emotive melodies and transcendent rhythms, with dance floor-centred beats.

Leading electronic producers and composers Anyma (from Tale Of Us) and Chris Avantgarde join forces to create a new collaboration “Consciousness”. 

Anyma’s first vocal single of 2022 follows  his widely celebrated, Kate Bush inspired single “Running,” which has  been a cross genre staple within electronic music since its release back in late 2021.

By combining Anyma’s dominant synthesisers and Chris Avantgarde’s scoring talents the track balances an eerie robotic vocal, detailing the  definition of consciousness itself - atop frenetic drums and robust synths.
