For the second instalment of our four weekly singles, @diassam returns with his track ‘!!RUN’. A hyper energetic peak dance-floor reviver, !!RUN is carried by a punchy infectious bassline that glides over and in between heavy four to the floor percussion, supplemented by syncapated high end and a sampled Daveed Digs verse. 

“when planning any sort of set I’m always trying to incorporate as many genre influences under one aesthetic umbrella as possible, !!RUN came from the want to have a dance floor filler that could fit into any sort of set I’m playing with any sort of genre.”

The lights were but a blur from the window as they roared down the M1 in the pissing rain. Horns blared and the occasional squeal of brakes was all that could be heard over the pounding from the car stereo. Everything inside the motor was banging and rumbling beneath the strain as they drove onwards into the darkness as fast as they could.

They'd probably never get away with it - at least they'd tried. What was it? A stolen motor careering up the highway in the dead of night on a Tuesday? Of course it was, a Ford Escort to say the least, hitting 145 with the most brutal pedal to the metal in the glow of the orange floodlights.

In the distance they could hear the sirens coming, it would all be over soon, up in flames in the back end of nowhere as they ran into the darkness.

Papa Nugs is set to self release a new EP which can only be described as being 'no holds barred'. We are talking hair raising dancefloor pumpers reminiscent of old Techno raves, Dance Mania bangers and all of that other good stuff which happened in between.

2024 has been a big year for Geoff Kirkwood, better known as Man Power. With huge EPs released on labels like Rekids, Make A Dance, Hypercolour, Sound As, and Me Me Me, he’s been as prolific as ever. In addition, he was invited to deliver both the RA Podcast and the BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, just two months apart.

Kirkwood has also launched his own venue, Are You Affiliated, in North Shields, where he’s hosted standout acts such as Caribou, Optimo, and Gerd Janson. On the DJ circuit, he’s been seen playing back-to-back sets alongside heavyweights like Skream, Special Request, La La, Daniel Avery, Ewan McVicar, Artwork, and Erol Alkan.

Globally, he’s returned to an intense touring schedule, gracing stages across Europe, the US, Latin America, and Southeast Asia. Highlights include playing at Berghain’s iconic Lab.Oratory, Hi Ibiza, and DJ Harvey’s Klymax club in Bali.

With a new FM radio residency, an upcoming nationwide UK tour, and an Ibiza residency soon to be announced, 2024 is shaping up to be a monumental year for Man Power.
