March Of Ghosts was the band's follow-up to Missa Atropos, which was released on Kscope in 2011 along with the live album, London. London was recorded on the band's European tour and the success of this tour helped provide the genesis for March Of Ghosts, as Jon-Arne explains: 'the previous tour gave us lots of inspiration. So, the week after returning we went straight into the studio to capture whatever came.' This material was then honed, dissected and refined throughout the summer and autumn of 2011 to create a coherent whole. 

While Missa Atropos can be viewed as a concept album, March Of Ghosts is much more as a collection of short tales; 'The idea was to have the lead character spend a night where all these ghosts (dead and alive) would march past him to tell their stories.

3.Just A Dream

Written in 2001 for a planned metal style collaboration with Mikael Åkerfeldt, this song has been revisited several times since, but I could never really make it fit the style of whatever I was doing at the time.  In the meantime the album with Mike finally happened, but in a completely different style to the album we planned 10 years ago (it's coming out in April).  So finally here is the orphan song Cut Ribbon - this is the latest version from the 2010/2011 Grace For Drowning sessions.  Gavin Harrison on drums (recorded in 2008), all other instruments SW.

Porcupine Tree - My Ashes "Live"

Deadwing is the eighth studio album by Porcupine Tree, released on 28 March 2005. The album is based on a screenplay written by Steven Wilson and Mike Bennion, and is essentially a ghost story. Wilson had expressed the intention to eventually have this film script made into a movie.

The album produced two singles, “Shallow” and “Lazarus”. The album also produced three music videos for “Lazarus”, “Start of Something Beautiful”, and “Glass Arm Shattering”.

The album includes collaborations with King Crimson’s Adrian Belew, who plays guitar solos on the title track “Deadwing” and “Halo”, and Opeth’s Mikael Åkerfeldt, who adds vocal harmonies on “Deadwing”, “Lazarus”, and “Arriving Somewhere But Not Here”. He also plays the second guitar solo on “Arriving Somewhere But Not Here”.
