Made by recording all my own samples, playing instruments, synths, drum machines into an Akai MPC 2000XL. 

No sample packs or one hits by others were used. 

I fully upgraded and modded the XL with ZuluSCSI. I could barely turn it on at first. It is my first MPC. This album is a result of the challenge I set myself and is quite minimal because of it. 

It was sequenced in the 2000XL and then Mixed through my Solid State Logic system in 96khz.

I mastered it in Wavelab using Softube Tape and Weiss Plugins.

Recorded Live at my kitchen table with a TASCAM Field Recorder at 92khz. 

Mastered using Wavelab Pro through my analog Solid State Logic system with a SSL SIGMA, SSL Fusion, G Comp and an API 2500+ Compressor.

Eighty 8

A cue made with a Digitone Keys with OTO BIM and Strymon VOLANTE Delays controlled by a Cirklon sequencer.

The underlying ‘broken drone’ is automated and swelled pushing the analog channels of the SSL SIGMA. 

The tracks/result are messed up with wobbly tape then revamped through the Solid State Logic system and JLM Pultec.

Think ‘Nordic Noir’ in the Snow but actually made on a 35°C day here in Melbourne.

Whistle Pops

An 80's sci fi movie soundtrack style piece made with a Roland D-05 (D-50) synth using the PG-1000 Programmer for sound designing the original patch I used. Recorded with an Eventide Ultratap Delay through a Solid State Logic SiX analog mixing desk to tape. 

Then captured at 96khz for upload.

Firsts

A track made using a Roland D-05 custom patch controlled and made with a PG-1000 Programmer. It was sent through a Solid State Logic SiX Mixer with an Eventide H90 effects unit on a send. I also used a Boss Dimension C as an insert.

Cinematrick

A 90's sounding ambient track made with all virtual instrument plugins and virtual samplers.

Made using Softube Model 84, Model 77, Model 72 and Model 82. Also using U-He Diva, Arturia Pigments and Waldorf Microwave 1 Synths. Arturia Augmented Grand Piano.

Samplers are TAL Drum and TAL Sampler.

Mixed and mastered through my Solid State Logic system in analog using various outboard effects.

Non Sum Gauisus

A track improvised and recorded live using the Waldorf Microwave 1 synth on an iPad recorded into a Tascam Portacapture X8. 

Added some tape delay and wobble in Wavelab afterwards for the vibe.

Micro Waves

A track made with a Roland TB-03 (303) and Behringer RD-9 (909) sequenced live with a Cirklon going through my Solid State Logic System and the master recorded directly to cassette. 

Cassette Acid

a track make with a Roland JV-2080, Roland JD-990, BFD Drums, 909 all sequenced with a Cirklon.

Recorded and mixed in analog through my Solid State Logic system.

Reparation

A short sound test of a massive wall of different FM synth voices and sounds. Using a Kodamo EssenceFM and a Roland TX7 using custom patches into a UA Solo 610 Tube Preamp. 

Effects used are a Strymon Volante, Vongon Polyphrase, Eventide H8000 and a BBD-320 Dimension Chorus. 

Recorded and mixed in analog through my Solid State Logic system. 

ESSENCE & TX7 Test

A track made with a Kodamo EssenceFM MKII synth, a Roland TX7 FM Synth, a TR-606, 909 and Vermona DRM1 MKIV drum machines through various effects pedals sequenced with a Cirklon.

Effects used are OTO BAM Reverb, Vongon Polyphrase Delay, Strymon Volante Delay, Dimension D Chorus and Eventide H8000 (Black Hole & Dual H910 Presets).

Effects as inserts in Vermona DRM MKIV are Boss DD-6 Delay, Boss HM-2w Heavy Metal and Spaceman Artemis filter.

Recorded and mixed through my Solid State Logic system in analog.

Essence

A track made with an Analog Four being sequenced by a Cirklon. 

Recorded and mixed through my Solid State Logic System.

An 80's movie inspired piece played and recorded live with an Essence FM Synth going through a Roland Dimension D Chorus and recorded in analog through my Solid State Logic System

A track made with an Essence FM and Juno 106 Synths. Tiptop Audio 808 and 909 Drum Modules sequenced by a Cirklon.
