This demo/Track hasn't  been heard before I'm sure, as it never made it onto record. As with all songs you begin to write you kind of get into a vibe and then get carried away with it, and before you know it you realise it's not fitting with rest of the album. We were listening to a lot of Ministry/Revolting Cocks at the time and you can tell the backing sounds quite industrial or trying to be. Hope you enjoy! X

GUN - Keep On Moving (Unreleased 8 Track Demo)

This idea was recorded in my old bedroom of my mums house using a Tascam 8track machine probably around 1995. 

I think Jools and I felt this was one of the strongest songs we recorded from the 0141 632 6326 album as it didn't differ too much from demo. 

I loved experimenting with different sounds and as I didn't have a keyboard at the time I use to tune the pads on my drum machine to make the notes. 

As you'd expect the quality is not great but you can get the general picture!

GUN - Always Young / Friends (8 Track Demo)

This early demo is obviously from the Swagger album. We had already recorded Word Up and we wanted to add songs that kind of felt the same way ! At the time I was listening to a lot of Public Enemy Ice T BodyCount Rage Against The Machine etc. I loved the angst & energy of these bands and I think Something Worthwhile has sort of got that same vibe. God knows what I was singing in the breakdown section though! LoL! X

GUN’s contemporary take on authentic rock gave them an edge over their peers. Formed in Glasgow in 1987 by the Gizzi brothers (Jools & Dante), they came to re-invent the rock ‘n’ roll genre. Their debut album, “Taking On The World, brought with it many successful singles (Better Days / Money) and their follow up albums (Gallus / Swagger) were equally as successful with hits (Word Up / Don’t Say It’s Over / Something Worthwhile). With countless appearances on MTV & TOTP’s, guest slots with acts such as; The Rolling Stones and countless awards, GUN were a band that lived hard and fast in the grunge era of the 90’s but by 1998 the band had decided to go their separate ways.

Fast-forward 10 years to 2008 and GUN received an unexpected prize. Awarded with the prestigious Nordoff Robbins Tartan Clef award for ‘Scotland’s Best Live Band’, GUN decided that they would reform. With the Gizzi brothers at the helm (Dante on lead vocals) the boys enlisted fellow Glaswegians Paul McManus on drums and Jonny McGlynn on Guitar to complete the new line up. With the band back in business, and a stream of live shows under their belt, the new look GUN was met with an overwhelming enthusiasm from both media and fans alike.
The new album see’s Dante taking their music in a new and revitalized direction, one that is mightily impressive live. Dante’s vocal ability and way with words encapsulates the crowd and keeps them as enthused with the new tracks, as they are when they hear the old ones.

The album also features appearances by Michael McDaid (Bass and vocals) and Gavin Fitzjohn (Brass) both from Paolo Nutini’s band and has been co-produced by the Multi instrumentalist Simon Bloor (Seal).

With a buzz starting to build around their new album, the band is excited about getting back on the road, showcasing new tracks and even more excited about the adventures that await them in 2014.
