A song about a man who I know who's been a bit of a dick in the past but is now sorting his life and his addiction problems out, which is always good to see. I wrote this song shortly before realising this after having a chance meeting with him on the street near my house. So the lyrics are quite harsh. Maybe I'll write another one to redress the balance.

Punks Don't Like Football - Gunpowder Plot

Gunpowder Plot is a three piece punk rock band from Wigan in the UK. Formed in 2000 and gaining a reasonable local following with incendiary and unpredictable live shows, they dissolved amid a storm of addiction, acrimony and discontent in 2004. They reconvened occasionally for one off gigs to their still loyal fanbase in Wigan and in 2011 decided to reconvene on a more permanent basis. Unfortunately their original singer and bass player, Rob Baker, decided that he couldn't carry on in the band so new member, Duncan Hannavy, was drafted in to fill Rob's shoes. This has given Gunpowder Plot a grittier and angrier sound than before and a fresh impetus to tour and release music. The band succesfully toured Europe with fellow Wigan punks, Truro in summer 2012 and will soon be recording their debut full length studio album, which will be released on Manchester's Pumpkin Records at some point this Autumn.
