Nice talk and I agree with a lot of it as a potential direction that blockchain can go. I disagree though with some of her understanding of the blockchain and cryptocurrency. For instance some of the crypto's are deflationary, you cannot inflate the supply so it reduces the nefarious actors. Another thing is anonymity is native to a lot of the blockchains like Monero, Cardano, Bitcoin...it takes another layer to be built and an opt-in approach from the user to attach your identity to it. So for these reasons you can see that blockchain is a valuable tool in the fight against corruption but if you flip it around it is also a tool that in the wrong hands could be used as a control and enslavement device. For me this conversation was all the bad and not the other possibilities.

Also on another note Proof of Stake is another type of algorithm that is solving the speed problem, Cardano is built on this. So its not true to say that operating at scale is an unsolved problem or unknown entity.

once again this is a god discusssion but the key point of blockchain and related technologies is missed... the issue is democracy where citizens are charged with oversight of complex technologies... no one can identfy the next hundred years of tech. development, but what we can do is upgrade democracy... offering absolute rights to sovreign citizens who oversight the public and private realms...
