Opportunity to comment on Martyanov's book entitled Disintegration.  Very well done and filled with red ink and highlighter as all good books are in this house.  However, this world view finds a home on Sunday morning TV talk shows.  In view of the fact that it was so recently written, I marveled that it fit nicely in the continuum occupied by Mearsheimer and Ikenberry.  Martyanov very conventionally attributed self defeating American moves to an inadequate world view and old fashioned bad judgement (a la Archduke Ferdinand).  Martyanov ignores the emerging truth that all of American politics is a criminal operation entirely lacking in any of the motives conventionally attributed to Machtpolitik and nationalism.  The takedown of the American Deep State and Global Cabal is immanent and the eventual reset in thinking and foreign relations should resemble nothing that has come before. I had an interesting life. I grew up in a small country on the Adriatic Sea, better known for Matt Lauer getting lost in Dubrovnik. Croatia is a beautiful Mediterranean destination, but our history is quite violent and oppressive. In those days it was known as Yugoslavia and was under the communist rule of Josip Broz Tito. As a child, I learned early on not to dream too big. Tito’s sudden death and internal fightings lead to the Balkan war that lasted several years and it ultimately resulted in a new country, Hrvatska, and its independence. I was 18 when my hometown of Split was attacked and with urging from my family, I left for Italy where the second part of my life as a free individual started. My travels lead me to England and ultimately United States where I truly learned what freedom and opportunity meant. After several years, I graduated from the medical school and started practicing family medicine. I realized early on in my career that medicine is more than just the practice of it. Medicine is also an opportunity to become a voice for patients and colleagues. My desire to make a difference led me to working with some amazing individuals with the same goal, to make medicine better for everyone while pursuing the three important tenants of the American way of life, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

P.oceanica is a slow-growing species of Posidonia, a global seagrass that provides food and shelter to marine organisms, protect coasts against erosion, and purifies natural water resources. P.oceanica covers the entire coastline of the Mediterranean Sea with its network of roots and rhizomes. One colony discovered off the coast of Ibiza is believed to be nearly two-hundred thousand years old, which would make it the oldest living plant in the world.

Marta Solé, a research scientist in environmental engineering at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in Barcelona Tech (UPC), has spent her career studying the impact of noise pollution on marine biology. Solé’s previous research demonstrated that cephalopods hear sound through small sensory organs, which become damaged when noise exceeds a certain volume and frequency. P.oceanica have exhibited similarly adverse effects to noise, compromising the plants’ ability to connect to root systems and gather nutrients from the ocean.

Suss Müsik considered the metaphorical duality of sound waves and ocean currents as a framework for this Junto project. Three “waves” of synthetic material were treated with various distortion effects and allowed to pass over each other. A cyclical pattern simulates the gently modulating seagrass that lies beneath the surf, insulating its tender blades from the harsher noise just above the crashing waves.
