It's said that a good magician never reveals their tricks; likewise, such tricks are often kept up the sleeves of the aforementioned magic user.  Idioms about magic aside, there are perhaps few musicians capable of the kind of electronic wizardry offered by Nerdskull (Hunter Dearing).  On “Introvert,” the latest single from then Missoula, Montana based producer, listeners are treated to yet another effortless blend of styles and textures, the kind of cross-genre experiment that’s played no small part in Dearing’s successful music career and wide-reaching appeal.  

As with the best Nerdskull tracks, “Introvert” exists as a masterclass in the art of blending samples into digitally-engineered music.  The single opens with a naturalistic palette of field recordings, the wind through the trees, the chirping of birds, all accented by Eastern wind chimes and bells.  It’s an engaging and tranquil mood that’s quickly punctuated by the type of dancefloor-energizing groove Dearing’s made his name with.  It’s a song that evokes the very best artists in electronic music, from the late and great stylings of Charles the First to the classic UK dubstep of Burial.  Over three brief minutes, Nerdskull incorporates dizzying bass synthesizers, affected vocals, shifting filtered pads, and nearly every other trick in the book to create a cohesive- and organic- whole.  The resulting single is, to put it mildly, magical.

This is a very special release, and the merging of two prominent bass music record labels.  A co-release between Gravitas Recordings and High Vibe Records, this single blends artists on both labels to create a perfect track that captures both labels’ signature sound.  The original track was released on Gravitas Recordings off Orenda’s Reverie album in 2019, and this remix will also be part of Equanimous’ High Vibe Records catalog.  This single brings all together to push the unique sound both labels have been creating.

“It was really fun working with Orenda and Equanimous to produce the perfect sound for this Remix. I produced a few versions of this song and we landed on the perfect combination of sound that merges all elements of Akriza, Orenda, and Equanimous into a unique style.” - Akriza

Mystic Descent (Akriza Remix) opens up with ethereal plucks, foley and a captivating drum beat to build the tension and put the listener in a trance.  As it pulls the elements out for the bass drop it teases something much bigger and builds even more to a climax, dropping fierce bass lines and vocal chops for an epic point.  Just as easily as it builds it fades out into the same trance it began with, this is a track that you can have on loop endlessly and ride the energy waves.

GUNS is a Turkish / Austrian, Londoner who started working with music just over a year ago, but who’s life has always revolved around it. A qualified architect and designer who studied in Central Saint Martins, she left her former career in March 2020 and began pursuing her love of music on Twitch. GUNS grew and honed her skills live on stream and quickly amassed a large and loyal following known as DYSFAM.

A classically trained pianist since the age of 5, her visually hypnotic sets cross all genres with cool, vibrant art to produce a unique and distinct experience. Over the last year she has accumulated well over 25K followers and has performed on some of Twitch’s most popular music events, including LP Giobbi’s Femme House Fridays, Desert Heart Records and Sofi Tukker’s Sunday Gunday.

Already being heavily supported by, Sofi Tukker, LP Giobbi, and many other Leaders in Electronic music, this is just the prologue to an ever developing unique story that for the first time, allows a viewer to see the process from start to finish.
