As I do with every guest mix I curate, I approach it much like I would when producing a track. Instead of simply stringing tracks together one after the other, I go the extra mile to produce a session that feels personal and unique. In these 90 minutes, there's a lot happening. Still, I adhere to maintaining the core essence of progressive house, which is to provide the listener with a seamless and captivating journey of groove and melodies. Mika - Relax, Take It Easy (Kaan Can Afro House Remix)

Mexican Ibiza based artist Günther Robles has been serving up his own singular sounds since 2002. Now the DJ and producer, who has played all over the world and often has his cuts played by the likes of Marco Carola and Danny Howells, serves up a cheeky edit of one of the biggest bands in the world. 

That band is none other than Coldplay, and the track he tackles is Adventure of a Lifetime. Over the course of seven minutes he layers in stiff rubber beats that really get you up on your toes. Fat analogue synth stabs and a slick chords also help colour the groove as Chris Martin’s trademark pained vocals soar up top.
 
This is the sort of massive house anthem that will bring whole clubs, festivals and terraces together this summer, and is a another big hit in the making for this fine Mexican.

Every now and then all DJs need a big tool to wake up their audience and make a mark. This effort from long standing Mexican artist Gunther Robles is just that – a track with big bass and driving drums and plenty of vocal goodness from Chris Martin, lead singer of Coldplay and someone who sounds great here when repackaged in a dance format. All around the prickly beats and his dreamy, pained vocals are ticking and slick arpeggios that fire up into the night sky over and over. It is simple but effective and sure to win many fans this summer.

Robles is a Mexican born DJ/Producer with 21 years worth of experience in the game, and with it, a vast array of reputable names on his resume, to sit alongside many top class venues where he has graced the decks. 

Now based in Dubai since 2023, he started his playing career in Mexico City, sharing the decks with such established names as Deep Dish, Danny Tenaglia, Satoshi Tomiie, Nic Fanciulli, James Holden, Dave Seaman and Green Velvet, to name a few. 

He has since taken those early vital experiences, and showcased his talent globally at iconic venues such Sankeys Ibiza, Eden Ibiza, Burg Schnabel Berlin, Panama Club Amsterdam, Macarena Club Barcelona and The Block Tel Aviv, amongst numerous others.

He has paired these performances with a stellar production career to date. A back catalogue that includes labels such as Natura Viva, Frucht, Moiss Music Black is certainly one to be admired. 

All the while gathering support from some of the biggest names on the scene, like Richie Hawtin, Solomun, Secret Cinema & Animal Trainer. 

With many exciting things beckoning for Robles in 2024,  we for sure are looking forward to sharing the ride.
