Tabla Player, Teacher and Performer based in London, UK
Starting his tuition at the age of 3 from his father Harkirat Rayatt, Gurdain gained tuition under the Punjab and Benares gharana styles of performance. With further learning from his grandfather, the late Bhai Gurmit Singh Virdee, Gurdain studied for 10 months in Kolkata with Guruji Pandit Shankar Ghosh, a living legend of the Farukhabad gharana. He is since taking taleem as a disciple of Pandit Yogesh Samsi of the Punjab Gharana. Gurdain regularly performs professional solo performances and accompanies kathak dance, vocal and instrumental performances as well as contemporary fusion and cross-cultural opportunities.
He is also an avid teacher and makes great effort to share his vision and knowledge with the next generation
