Steven Weston is a Grammy Nominated engineer, producer and songwriter from London. Bought up in Portsmouth, Steven learned to play the organ, but an early obsession with electronic music soon saw him trading it in for a set of turntables and a CDJ. At 18, he left for Spain, where he became a resident DJ on the Murcia coast. He has been on the move ever since, touring the world playing keyboard for the likes of Ladyhawke, Charli XCX, Mikky Ekko and UNKLE. He was also the first and lead bass player in The KLE side project Badger Kull. He cut his teeth as an engineer and Metropolis and Strongroom studios in London, and worked for many years as engineer for Rudimental, at their studio Major Toms in Hoxton.

The last few years have seen Weston collaborating with James Lavelle’s UNKLE on a variety of projects, he’s toured everywhere, playing sold out shows and festivals as part of UNKLE:Live. Most recently he produced the Ronin I mixtape, which was released spring 2021. Most recently he has remixed a track from that mixtape, Catch Me When I Fall, which has had amazing support from John Digweed.

Liquid is the first track Weston has released on another label, with his first EP and remix EP being released on his own label Blank Dust. ‘When I was getting into to Electronic music at a young age, Sasha and Digweed were my biggest inspiration, so for Sasha to put out my first track (on another label) is an honour’. Liquid is released on Last Night On Earth, 11th February 2022.

Jeremy Olander Announce Three-Track Debut EP on Berlin-Based Institution Watergate Records.
 
After a long hiatus away from releasing original music that stretched for over a year, Olander returned to his Vivrant imprint when putting out his summer single ‘Murphy’ in early August.

The melodic peak-time record garnered DJ support from the likes of Jimi Jules, Hunter/Game, John Digweed, Eelke Kleijn, Hernan Cattaneo, Lane 8, and Fideles, saw specialist radio support by BBC Radio 1, Kiss FM, Swedish Radio P3, Capital FM, FG Extra, as well as extensive editorial  coverage from Spotify on playlists Open Air, Electronic Rising, New Music Friday, Altar, 4 AM Chillout, Beats of Tomorrow and more. 

Now, the 35-year-old Swede returns with his first EP project of 2022 that also marks his debut on German powerhouse label Watergate Records. After opening its now legendary club over 20 years ago, the Berlin hotspot was eventually coupled with a label imprint 6 years later. Since then, Watergate Records has been at the forefront of forward-thinking house and techno and has paved the way for artists such as Jimi Jules, Solomun and Butch. 

The EP, consisting of two original outings coupled with a remix of lead track ‘Silius’ by Afterlife standout duo Alfa Romero, has wreaked havoc at the Swede’s sold-out spring and summer shows at prominent clubs and festivals in the likes of The Bow in Buenos Aires, Sound in Los Angeles, Cercle Festival in Paris, Village Underground in London and will be formally available on all DSP on November 11. 

Lead record ‘Silius’, a dark and sinister Olander record with an arrangement akin to a traditional intro-style track, has seen early support from the likes of Adriatique and showcases the versatility of Olander’s capabilities as a producer. With a delicate lead melody contrasted against viciously thumping kick drums and menacing FX detailing, it makes for an astounding listening experience that will surely become a staple surefire weapon at clubs and festivals alike in the fall and winter of 2022. 

Refusing to be pigeonholed in any genre box, Jeremy’s ‘Silius’ EP is a bonafide genre-transcending project that breaks rules and maintains an element of surprise throughout. Infused with elements of epic movie scores, 90s trance, and a dash of Olander’s discernable Pryda heritage, the 35-year-old Swede continues to push the envelope and carve out his own stylistic niche that separates and elevates him as an artist. 

With additional high-profile releases for the winter and noteworthy shows at City Hall in Stockholm, Palacio Alsina in Cordoba and Piknic Électronik in Melbourne, opportunities for fans to be mesmerized by Olander and his new music are a plenty.

Hellbent on exceeding expectations with every drop on Vivrant and staying true to his word of using his new platform to do whatever he wants, Jeremy has decided to, at last, let his Dhillon monicker out of his proverbial cage. 

With a darker and more drum-oriented sound, Dhillon was last sighted on Adam Beyer’s Drumcode and the highly regarded A-Sides compilation series. With back-to-back appearances in 2013 and 2014 with ‘Layerleaf’ and ‘Lost’ respectively, Dhillon now makes a much anticipated return with a first-ever three-track offering in the ‘Intro’ EP. 

Comprised of saw tooth bass-laden and groovy opener ’Intro’, forceful peak-time banger ‘Umbra’ and dark, sinister ‘Black Widoe’, the EP is a diverse yet cohesive body of work. It demonstrates Olander’s unearthly ability to seamlessly float between styles and adds to an already awe-inspiring resumé that looks like one of a hardened veteran, not a 28 year old vowing he’s only starting to get his feet wet.
