The Lake

Inspired by horror film scoring from John Carpenter to giallo, literary references from the collection celebrates sonic tropes of the horror genre while reaching deeper to create a soundscape provoking to both the mind and body. Featuring visceral sound design, avant-garde vocal arrangements and sleek production which passes often between danceable and cinematic, these songs will find sanctuary in clubs or focused listening sessions.

“Show me the comfort of a tunnel with no end.” The opening lines of ‘The Lich King’ ring out, reining in Buddhist notions of reincarnation together with occult fantasy to paint a raw picture of human mortality. In spite of its solemn character, the song remains chillingly seductive amongst avant-garde vocal arrangements, synth lines ranging from razor-sharp highs to hulking lows and a disarming resolution of acoustic guitars in harmony.
