motherhood.

Thank you to the dance floors who have watched me blossom, it is soon time for me traverse the passage into motherhood. 

This was the last set I played at Yoga Barn Oct 24, 2021, and I trust it won't be my last. See you on the other side.

Often, I have an idea for a DJ set, and i'm waiting for the right venue that will work well with the music I collected.

Such is the case with this 3+ hour journey that I've played at Hatzvi Cafe, a popular and chic place in Pardes-Hana, Israel.

The main theme is Brazilian and African Chillout, building up to more funky grooves towards the end.

I couldn't have imagined it humanly possible to have such a delectably rich dance floor ride with a group of 10 men. Let alone on an isolated island unplugged from the grid. It was a brotherhood gathering, on a chilly, rainy weekend at Rawa Land. Don't get me wrong, spirit was flowing, but bringing the digital realm of electronics onto the desolate island that is Rawa Land, wasn't part of my bag man. Personally, I was completely at peace with drumming, flutin, and singing around the fire. We sat in ceremony for 2 days doing exactly that.... Sharing, reflecting, Being. Modern, Vulnerable Men unplugged in nature. Love it. 

On day 3 something shifted.  Brother Mane had me at the front of a canoe as he guided us back to the mainland. Parked at the marina, was my van with all that we needed to power a sonic space ship. The mission was to bring it all back via canoe to Rawa Land. We arrived back at the land just as the night was setting in. Out came the headlamps and power tools. Genny rippin', saws runnin, sparks flyin.... The men came together and 2 hours later we had ourselves a fully functioning space craft powered by a DJ booth from God itself. 

With the ship ready to sail, we shifted down to the fire to align on the mission. The rain spirits sprinkled as we circled in prayer. Cacao and Mycelium made its way around the circle while we each shared and felt the feels of the moment. Medicine inside, hearts exposed, we made it back up to the ship and sealed its door for 3 hours. It got nasty, buck nasty. Far nastier than i thought I'd be sharing... There was something about this all male container that words cannot describe....
