We’re saying goodbye to this years’ season in Goa with Vish a.k.a. VISHWAATMAAA’s (MetaForce Freaks / SuKhush Project / Altar Records ) set performed @ Goamantra Rec Release Party on the 3rd March.

Vishwaatmaaa, is a Bombay (India) native with roots in Brooklyn and has been involved in psytrance since the mid 90s before it was called “psytrance” at the old skool parties you could only find with handwritten maps. He was an active participant on the dancefloor then, as a stomper who wouldn’t stop until the party was over. He does that now too but with breaks to collect himself during sets.

As a founder of the legendary 6362MetaForce psytrance collective, he started throwing psytrance parties after moving to New York in 2005. His journey has taken him through performances creating labyrinths at parties & festivals in North America, India and Europe spanning over a decade. He creates complex darkpsy/nightpsy DJ sets with loads of live remix elements – always featuring powerful dance floor basslines & beats to take you through the musically intricate mazes of structured sounds. Each one is a unique journey that moves your heart and head along with your feet through a psychedelic labyrinth of beauty, power &
boom. “No fear, No Fillers – Only Killers” is his mantra.

Vishwaatmaaa lets you out before you are ready to dive into another maze again! The DJ & remix performance platform is his vehicle to deliver high-power energy and smiles to the dance floor via technical mastery & compositions that invite the audiences into his world of the trance dance experience. Vish is as much a participant in the party as a shaman of the sounds. His journey’s take you through intensely woven dreamscapes where new psychedelic experiences through sounds never cease to exist!

Vish also works with wife Rachel on SuKhush ((Live Flute with PsyDowntempo)), which features live instrumentation (flute improvisation) over psychedelic downtempo DJ/Remix sets – constructing special journeys of electronic and organic elements.

YURY of Rf-Crew says so: “Dear Friends, Goanauts and Party People! My first mix in this year is on the way! Sunshine, flowers, a pinch of psychedelic. You know what it is? It’s Springadelic!”

It would be difficult to remember the exact details of how the team was born after so much time, but one thing is certain – the Rf-Crew is the 2.0 version of an exceptional, music-mad group of friends. Founding members and name-givers: Dj Szamy & Dj Ad-M.
The crew first started spreading their wings around 2003 in “the heart of the Great Alföld (Hungarian Plain)” and was hugely inspired by the welcome their smaller-larger outdoor and indoor attempts to fly got. This is exactly what they needed. Thanks to the initial success and motivation, the path, idea and attitude towards life that the team would have liked to follow started unfolding in front of them.

Their first bigger milestone was the Tiszaparty organized in 2006 where the visitors were no longer entertained solely by Rf-Crew DJs, but also by the whole Hungarian goa scene’s cream of the crop who made their appearance as well. A long line of Tisza-parties followed, held in each consecutive year (2006,2007,2008,2009,2010). The great news of the weekend-long mini festival spread quickly and even crossed borders. There were more than 1000 visitors at the 2008 party held on the Rákóczifalva beach. In the meantime the Rf-Crew joined forces with the other big Alföld-based group of party organizers, the Thermal Team, which resulted in a series of psychedelic parties held in the Mindszent castle-spa; the Tavaszi Zsongás and Red October and later the Summer Open Air and Psylvester as well. It wasn’t long before the Mindszent castle became the “citadel of Alföld goa”, featuring local and foreign artists such as: Para Halu, Kalumet, Aurafood, Venom Sense, Deto, Mindflow, Yarn, Snag the Sunshepherd, JIS, Big Bacterials, Parallel Dialog, Champa, Basic, The Freak Show.

The Rf-Crew continues to play a significant role in the local goa scene today keeping true to their original philosophy. The events hosted by them are hallmarked by high standards, diversity and popularity. You can find their DJs on the lineups of many psychedelic music events.

Suited to the early daytime or early night Asimilon’s sound is powerful and groovy tech influenced psychedelia with flowing softer-hard semi-melodys and small geckos scuttling down your ear drums then mulitplying into tiny shards of ‘proppa’ trance… almost like the good old days but fresh new and years before its best before date.
Asimilon has been writing and performing music and DJing mostly psychedelic trance since 1996, is part of Psymmetrix, Big Scary Monsters and A.R.T. Conspiracy and utilises his experience of international dancefloors to good effect. Recently he has been taking some time out to raise tiny humans, and between nappies and bodily fluids is trying to find time to finalise a 2nd EP.
Some highlights of his career include appearing at events such as Antaris in Germany, Modular Dimension in Italy, Party People in Moscow, Noisy Radicals in South Africa, The Glade in UK, Gaian Mind Summer Festival in USA and many other festivals and parties.

BMSS Records series kicks off with label manager BOOM SHANKAR. The talk will be followed with his freshet mix. Don’t miss it!

German based Boom Shankar is a Dj for Psychedelic Trance, the label manager of BMSS Records and an event promoter within Europe. Having been initiated into the Goa Trance scene in the early Nineties and by traveling the globe ever since, his sets are a mirror of the constant melting pot of fundamental Psytrance characteristics.
Whether he is guiding the dance floor through the night or into the morning, the outcome is always a voyage filled with a depth and an energy that allows the crowd to feel a sense of freedom through Trance. Groovy, deep, mature, hypnotic and clearly distinguishable.
Having played at many underground & major events worldwide, he has developed a full understanding of the flow and the energies of each dance floor and is flexible in terms of “styles”. Through his impromptu sets, he is able to interact personally with each dance floor, taking the audience on a trans-formative journey. His sets are a direct form of communication through music.

For Boom Shankar, this process of mutual giving and receiving between the DJ and the audience has led to meaningful feedback from festivals like S.U.N. and O.Z.O.R.A., Antaris, Fusion, VuuV, Glade, Summer never Ends, Hadra, Doof, Moksha, Transahara, Transylvania Calling, Timegate, Ometeotl, Universal Religion, Freqs of Nature, Trimurti, Neon and in clubs from New York to Bangkok, London, Tel Aviv and nearly every other corner of the world.
