Re-upload of an old track recorded in 1994.

This track is dedicated to my brother Greg Evans who sadly passed away on March 24th 2015.

He was a superbly talented artist, painter, graphic artist (and the artwork to accompany this track is one of his canvas paintings).

He will be sadly missed by many, many people, but never forgotten.....

Track title 'Whale song' (1994)

Old track i recorded in 1993/1994 using an old Amiga computer running Octamed tracker software. The melody/chords were from a Casio CZ1000, all played through an Alesis Quadraverb effects unit and mixed down live while the tape was running, with some field recordings played over the top in realtime.

Recorded in 1994, and recently transferred from an old cassette tape.

Another old track i recorded at home in 1995 using an old Amiga computer running Octamed software, played through an Alesis Quadraverb.

Poor quality again with very gritty sounding 8bit samples, recently converted from an old cassette tape.

I'm sure the main melody was made from a sample of a 'door bell' which i'd collected in my library of Amiga samples..lol

I think i recorded this around 1994, it was recorded at home using an Amiga computer running Octamed tracker software, all played through an Alesis Quadraverb effects unit and mixed down live (while the tape was running).

Converted from an old cassette tape and mastered and EQ'd slightly to hopefully improve the quality a bit.

Old track i recorded at home in 1994, created using an old Amiga computer running Octamed software, also used my friends Roland 202 on this track, and it was all played through an Alesis Quadraverb effects unit.

I remember i had to manually sync the Roland202 to the rest of the track using the tempo dial/slider.  I think i might have recorded this on my old 4 Track tape machine.

Please Note: This track contains a sampled drum loop which i'm pretty sure was sampled from: 'FADE II BLACK - Insistent Rhythm' (1990 Network Records/Fragile Records)' which i bought on vinyl a few years previously.

This is a bit of a homage/remix of the classic track 'Special Request' produced by Manix (4 hero) released in 1991 on Reinforced Records.

Manix - Special Request (DJ Guy Remix) - Unreleased Demo version

I found this old tape last week containing 2 sides of music i recorded back in 1994 (the tape isn't marked with a date although i'm pretty sure i recorded this in 1994). 

It was created using an old Amiga computer running Octamed (a very basic sample playback sequencer) and was all played through an Alesis Quadraverb effects unit (which i borrowed for the weekend from the Grassroots studio/Community Project, Cardiff UK).
I think this entire tape was recorded over a single weekend while messing about with the Amiga and Quadraverb.

Poor quality from a very old cassette tape..

(1994) Supertape old tape (Side B) Trk 3  (please read description)

Another really old track i made using my Fostex 4-Track tape recorder around 1991-92, also used a drum machine and a Casio CZ1000 (borrowed from a friend), with a really crappy sequencer (manual tempo sync, similar to using a pitch control on a turntable), was pretty difficult to even get the arpeggiated synth line in time with the drums.

The chord pad was sampled (off vinyl) using an old Casio SK1 sampler, which i later ended up giving away to a very good friend in Grassroots studios/Community Project. http://www.grassrootscardiff.com/

p.s. Quite funny archiving this old tape..... I literally had to clean the tape head (on my cassette tape deck) after playing each of these old tracks.  
(i've added some EQ and mastered them slightly to hopefully improve the quality a bit, very poor recording though from a very old tape)

(1992) BASF CHROME EXTRA tape (Side A) Trk 4  (read track description)

Please note: This track contains quite a few samples from my vinyl collection (details listed below).

1) 'James Brown - Give it up or turnit a loose' (drums/guitar, plus the sample saying 'stomp your feet', plus the James Brown vocal snippets and the Brass sounds)

2) The vocal sample saying 'Cos i get raw', was taken from 'Big Daddy Kane - Raw' (1987), also sampled the main breakbeat from the track.

3) The sample saying 'I just can't stop dancing' is by Arthur Baker AKA 'Wally Jump Jnr. and the Criminal Element' (from the track 'Tighten Up! I just can't stop dancin')'. 

4) Also contains an acid/303 sample from  'Blapps Posse - Bus' it (It's time to get busy)' released on Tribal Base Records in 1990.

5) The siren sound is from 'Mantronix - King of the Beat'

6) Track also contains a sample from 'KRS-One - Sound of da Police'.

7) Also contains a slowed down, cut up sample from  'Mark the 45 King - The 900 Number' (from 1990).

8) Also contains a Kik/Snare drum sample from 'Eon - Spice' (1990)
