Guy’s twenty-year love affair with electronic music has taken him on a winding path from a house music epiphany at university in Sheffield to London, through sub-genres, numerous fashion crimes and many of the country’s best-loved dancefloors. In the eighteenth year of his DJ career, the Londoner flits between the house music that shook him back in Sheffield in 1993, and the kaleidoscopic patchwork sets that make the @sonofbangers radio shows tick. After ten years of promoting everywhere from SeOne to Heaven, the more intimate (and fun) Dropout parties in Shoreditch kept him occupied for six years until 2013. Not bad for something that started with a couple of friends as a one-off. 

A production career that emitted EPs on a selection of the more obscure labels - Devore, Sideways Recordings, Drag’n’Drop, L:Music and Landed - proved an interesting interlude amongst spots at the End, Ministry Of Sound, Heaven, SeOne, Koko, Rhythm Factory, Turnmills, Shackwell Arms, Big Chill House & Bar, Vibe Bar, Lockside Lounge, Horse And Groom and Star Of Bethnal Green.

Some of the best times have been spent in Croatia ’s Petracane at the Airbound festival, playing alongside Josh Wink and Christian Varela on Pioneer's DJSounds Radio show on Sonica in Ibiza - where Guy played through the 00s - and sets at the Glade in Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party and Lost Village festivals. As @sonofbangers' own legend continues on www.meattransmission.com, he still gigs in London, Leeds, and anywhere that will have him.
