On April 16, senior staff from the City of Vancouver and City of Surrey outlined their joint proposal for Infrastructure Canada's $50-million prize in the Smart Cities Challenge.

The Greater Vancouver Board of Trade hosted a breakfast event on B.C.'s tourism industry on Aug. 22, 2019.  The event began with presentations by Marsha Walden, CEO of Destination British Columbia, and Ty Speer, CEO of Tourism Vancouver, on the creation of a Destination Development Strategy for the Greater Vancouver region to strengthen B.C.'s reputation as a destination of choice. 

Following their remarks, Speer and Walden were joined on stage by Paul Mochrie, Deputy City Manager for the City of Vancouver, and Chris Peters, Executive Director of Tourism Burnaby, for a panel discussion moderated by Anne Murray of the Vancouver Airport Authority.

Cultivating a Travel Destination of Choice

In the lead up to the 2019 Federal Election, the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade has once again partnered with Mustel Group and FleishmanHillard HighRoad to conduct a survey on the opinions of the business community and general public. 

On Sept. 16, the business community had an opportunity to meet and engage with federal election candidates and find out what the defining "ballot box issues" are in Greater Vancouver, as Evi Mustel and Anna Lilly unveiled the findings of our VoteLocal 2019 Federal Election Survey.
