The debut release on Modern Nostalgia, titled Family Affair, offers a compelling introduction to the ethos of this new underground electronic label. True to its name, Family Affair brings together a carefully curated selection of tracks that define the label's mission-blending nostalgic elements of early house and techno with modern-day techniques, while maintaining an emphasis on authenticity and timelessness.

The first track, Can You Hear My Call by Resonant Robot, sets the tone with its dreamy acid-driven deep house rhythms. Layered with delicate yet immersive soundscapes, this track serves as a call to the roots of electronic music, reminiscent of the rawness and emotional depth found in early 90s house, yet enriched by contemporary production finesse.

Next comes Flop by Kimyou, the mysterious mastermind behind Modern Nostalgia. Minimalistic and funky, Flop showcases Kimyou's distinctive approach-stripping away the unnecessary to reveal the core of the groove. This track encapsulates the label's dedication to purity and simplicity, a direct nod to the underground scene's refusal to bow to overproduction and superficiality. Kimyou's vision is clear: music that thrives in its essence, devoid of spectacle.

Closing the release is Depths Of Time by Gerwin van Engelenburg, a deep, Detroit-influenced techno track that delves into the expansive, hypnotic realms of timeless techno. With its nods to the pioneering sounds of the Motor City, the track is a reminder that the past still has a profound impact on the future, aligning perfectly with Modern Nostalgia's philosophy of blending history with the present.

In Family Affair, Modern Nostalgia signals its commitment to resurrecting the spirit of early electronic music while pushing it forward with new creative insights. It is a manifesto of sorts, where each track serves as a testament to the label's dedication to the underground-a realm where music reigns supreme over trends and digital distractions. Dj and producer from the Netherlands with Italian roots, the style of Angelo D’onorio is described as tech house and melodic techno with a cutting funky edge. Dj since 1991, he produces since 1994. Angelo is considered as one of the pioneers of the Amsterdam techno scene. Working in the nineties as a resident for It, Mazzo, Paradiso, Awakenings and Welkom to the future and regular spots at Chemistry and Roxy, he received multiple awards as favorite dj at the Golden gnome awards. Angelo's music has appeared on Metrohm, Bakroom, Manual, 90watts, Traum Schalplatten, Music Man, Bosh, Carbon, Mazzo, Circoloco and Fabric London. Angelo is a real music machine freak and builds his tracks mainly around his analog and modular sessions.
