Mr G is a firm favourite up here in BR HQ, and if you've not listened back to his excellent set for us then stick it on your 'to do' list. That is after you've checked out this new remix he's done for Chris & Antanas, forthcoming on NDV Records. 

He truly is a master of no-nonsense rolling house music, and this is no exception. Due in stores at the beginning of December.

Vril's progression from the early Giegling run of numbered EPs to last year’s considerably more intense 1-2 of Torus and Vortekz made perfect sense: the faceless producer came out the other side of dubby club fare into more intense, bleak terrain. 2014’s breakout year was capped by his ferocious teardown at our Dystopian showcase; replete with rushing, quasi-Resident Evil visuals, it was a masterwork - easily one of our Best of 2014.

Incredibly, Delsin actually chose to sign on Vril for a sophomore LP on the strength of his Boiler Room set, citing the "energy of some tracks and the crowd's reaction, which was really good." First debuted on our screens, “Portal 7” is everything you could want in a techno track. Pistons pump, steam valves release and tectonic plates shift underfoot - in short, it's a total ripper. Throw yourself tumbling headfirst down the Portal.

With Personal Momentz, a wonderfully deep and meditative album, released only at the tail-end of last year, Mr. G apparently has an itch left to scratch – and we’re all the richer for it. “YO…” has got G’s fingerprints (or: logo?) all over: robust, hypnotic, with just the right balance of crunch and juice. Dude's consistency would be alarming if it wasn't so enjoyable.

Around the halfway mark a simple, slinky and devastatingly effective piano line slices clean through the dense atmosphere, before gradually coaxing the rhythm back to life. It’s a infectious wiggle in the dark; or, in G’s case, perhaps something a little more exuberant.

His Resonate EP is due early March via Just Jack.

Mr G "YO..." - Boiler Room Debuts

nthng follows up his acclaimed debut EP 'Remember Us' with the third entry into the Mörk catalogue, '1996'. Taking a less aquatic approach to production, but still shrouded in warm analogue fuzz and reverb, '1996' sees the young producer on much more reverent form, channeling a wider range of influences from German dub techno to staggered UK bass and Giegling-esque minimal tropes.

Following on from son.sine and Sven Weisemann on Delsin's deep and house leaning series of releases is Artefakt with a new three track affair entitled The Fifth Planet EP. The Dutch duo has been making music for the mind on labels like Field and Prologue for a few years, and are experts at conjuring up atmospheric grooves that seduce your soul.

Q3A is a new alias of Route 8, a producer who has credits on labels like Lobster Theremin and Nous as well as Black Venison. Now the producer serves up a sumptuous four track EP, Space Chamber, on the Delsin label and it touches on many different styles with equally great results.

The second release of the ATTIC LAQS series is signed by the italian duo Boston 168. The EP presents three acid techno tracks matched by some psychedelic and melodic touches, where the old school meets the modern sound in a perfect hypnotic flow.


Prophecy

Tresor Records marks its 250th release with a very special project indeed. Continuing to forge ahead whilst remaining ever mindful of its legacy, Tresor proudly presents Infiniti - The Remixes: a trilogy of classic cuts and new reworks from one of its original Detroit linchpins Juan Atkins.

Dubbed as his “pure techno” project, Atkins produced two full-length albums under the Infiniti moniker—The Infiniti Collection, released by Tresor in 1996, and Skynet two years later. 16 years on and they are as relevant today as they were pioneering then, brought further up-to-date here with a series of fresh takes from some of techno’s pioneering and esteemed figures: Thomas Fehlmann, TV Victor, Function, Redshape, Sleeparchive and the re-release of dubtechno vanguard Moritz Von Oswald's remix of "Think Quick", originally released in '94 on Metroplex.

Part One - The Orb’s Thomas Fehlmann picked two tracks, one in each album, to form a very special combo-mix. The shimmering “Walking On Water” and "Raindrops" come together in a beautiful old-school sounding version. Tresor Records ambient stalwart TV Victor plies his vision to present a hypnotic take on the gently elevating “Thought Process”. 

Part Two picks up the pace, heading further down the timeline with “Flash Food”—originally released in 1995 as part of one of the label’s famous annual compilations, re-edited by Sandwell District’s Function. Skynet’s punchy classic on the flip, “Skyway” rounds off the EP with a killer old-school remix by techno’s masked crusader Redshape.

Part Three concludes with a remix package of The Infiniti Collection’s brooding slow-burner “Think Quick”, backed with an offering from one of Berlin’s revered electronic practitioners Sleeparchive and the re-release of Moritz Von Oswald's remix, initially released on Metroplex in 1994 - a rarity.
