Acclaimed French DJ, producer and electronic music stalwart OXIA continues the roll-out of his much-anticipated new album Aelle with the release of Silk & Fur – the third single to be revealed ahead of the LP’s arrival in October. Following the warmly received Presence and the euphoric Colors of Life, this latest oﬀering sees OXIA reconnect with long-time friend and collaborator Yannick Baudino, alongside an evocative vocal performance from fellow Grenoble-based artist Hacène.

Co-produced with Baudino – with whom OXIA has previously released material on esteemed labels such as All Day I Dream, Saved and Gruuv – Silk & Fur is a finely crafted, slow-burning journey through rich melodic textures and hypnotic grooves. Making his debut under this name, Hacène’s emotive vocal weaves eﬀortlessly through the track’s intricate layers, adding depth to its refined, atmospheric sound.

Where Presence established an energy that was both introspective and danceable, and Colors of Life expanded the sonic horizon with luminous optimism, Silk & Fur introduces a mood that is at once sensual and contemplative – blending warm melodies with subtle dub-infused rhythms and a deep, rolling bassline that anchors the track’s hypnotic flow. It’s a piece that flows with elegance and complexity, equally at home in moments of quiet listening or on a dimly lit dancefloor.

As the release of Aelle draws closer, Silk & Fur serves as another testament to OXIA’s mastery in fusing emotional resonance with club-ready sophistication. With over two decades at the forefront of electronic music – from iconic releases on Bedrock and Knee Deep In Sound to remixes for Moby, Agoria, and John Digweed – OXIA continues to push his artistry into new territory, reaﬃrming his enduring influence on the global scene.

Oxia, Yannick Baudino feat. Hacène - Silk & Fur [Diversions]

For our ninth release, we welcome the talented Niko Garcia who brings a deeply emotional and atmospheric journey titled The Others. The original mix is built around lush textures and hypnotic grooves, carrying the signature warmth and storytelling that defines Nikos sound. On remix duties, we are proud to present a stunning lineup of artists who each bring their own unique vision to the release. BiGz returns to the label delivering a dreamy re-interpretation full of warmth, layering delicate melodies and ethereal soundscapes to elevate the track into a beautifully immersive experience. Adding a different dimension, fellow Argentines Francisco Basso and Deejaguar join the MWE family and inject more drive and energy, crafting remixes that lean more onto the dancefloor with powerful rhythms while keeping the emotional core intact. The Others is a release that strikes a balance between introspection and movement, fitting perfectly in both late-night DJ sets and sun-soaked beachside moments.

‘Dust’ borrowed its name from a short story by Greg Egan, in which a future scenario grants humans the ability to duplicate their consciousness as software, thus experiencing immortality. Inspired by this narrative, Nicolas decided to focus on the experiences of the main character, who observes himself becoming increasingly disordered in his surroundings.

Whilst writing this remix I decided to use just a select few elements of the original, but with the mindset that I'd recreate the colours of Bougaïeff's sonic palette myself. This would mean I could take the original ideas in different directions. The outcome was a battle between his textures and mine, where elements push and pull against each other, almost in conflict.

This is the second idea I worked on with Kathrin deBoer for the Conditions Two EP, and an attempt to make something surreal. I tried to use her voice as an instrument in the track, rather than presenting it as a normal vocal at the forefront of the mix. I used lots of Max for Live fiddling’s to mangle up her vocals into all sorts of weird noises, and then picked out some of my favourites to use in the track. Most of the noises that aren’t the drums and main synths, so pretty much all the weird noises in the track, are made from Kathrin’s voice.



The overall feeling was something soft and organic, where in addition to the unpredictability and non-loopy manner of the vocal effects, the drums also follow a loose and slightly randomised pattern, with lots of shuffle to add to the free feeling. I thought the approach made it end up sounding a bit maddening and messy, and there was also a strong feeling of space in there with the main pads, so this combined with the surrealist approach lead me to the name ‘Falling Into Recursive Space’.
