For episode 2 of Guess Who's Coming To Dinner, we were privileged enough to get to meet with Mike Aus, executive director of Houston's Oasis, and Helen Stringer, executive director of Kansas City's Oasis group. Oasis exists to "create a place for freethinkers to celebrate the human experience. Each week we gather to discuss real-world principles based on reason, not tradition, which are supported by evidence, not scripture or revelation." Helen and Mike took the time to have a delicious Easter dinner with us featuring traditional Italian Easter soup, steak kabobs, and salad, and on this Sunday we talked about the value of community, the place of religion in the world, and how poetry and prayer are remarkably similar.
