The Veil

In the misty hours, a highway somewhere near '95, with a somewhat sour war in my head next to a lie:

"Hey, I believe all the words you say. Hey, I promise you I'll behave." But with my feet on the seat, sitting straight at the knees, you must have thought I was someone else. Looking over the trees, 'cause that was all I could see, I could have sworn I was someone else.

In the misty hours, in a bar somewhere near .19, and my full weight on the flaw that'll keep us up tonight:

"Hey now, believe every word I say. Hey now, it's just a little misbehaviour." But with your body, before my memory walked out the door, I could have sworn you were someone else. And by the speed that you rolled each foot back toward its soul, you must have thought you were someone else. You must have thought you'd be somewhere else. You must have thought I'd be someone else. 

But even I've been searching, in the misty hours, for a meaning numbers don't provide. Though they get quite high.
