Gatecrasher is an international clubbing brand made famous by the "Gatecrasher" (later "Crasher") dance music events, which were held at the Republic nightclub in Sheffield, UK during the late 1990s and early 2000s. The promoters of the brand were Linus Schaxmann, Simon Raine and Simon Oates and, until 2004, Scott Bond. By August 2014, the only Gatecrasher venue remaining was located in the United Kingdom city of Birmingham. This venue was closed down permanently by the authorities on 25 November 2015.

A Trance Yearbook of 1997 - Part Four

Here is the second installment to my Gatecrasher Experiences series. This series will be focusing on the tracks that were one of the clubbing  pioneers of the best era of dance music, known as  Gatecrasher. In this second episode in the series, I have focused more on a peak time style mix, including some of the best known tracks of Classic Trance, which also have been played at Gatecrasher events or been featured on the brand's compilations throughout the years. Thankyou for the great response and feedback for the first episode, it absolutely blew me away. I only hope I can achieve the same with this episode and future episodes. Gatecrasher Experiences Ep.2

This is a vinyl-only faithful recreation of a live mix I hold very dear, and (in my humble opinion) one of the best Essential Mixes of all time... 
None other than the seminal Homelands 1999 set by the main man Paul Oakenfold.
I've tried to keep everything as accurate as possible, from the records themselves, to the equipment used, and even the starting/finishing BPM (which I've only recently realised was pretty fast!). 
I hope I've done Oakey proud with the end result, and I hope you guys enjoy the mix.
