Hi, this is Kiana from gyrofield. 
As I slowly transition from life as a student abroad in the UK to working as a full time musician, DJ & content creator, I found myself wanting more engagement & exchange of information with listeners online and offline. Combined with a need for financial independence I have decided to open up my services to Patreon, offering audio samples, never-released music & 1-1 feedback.

For me, the music of Noisia has long been associated with boundary-pushing, inspiration and crystallizing the culture of electronic music. This remix was an homage to their approach. 

It began as a story about a restless spirit finding, though not peace in their long rest, a reason to keep living. One week in April spent fevered in bed provided the frantic unhinged motivation to deliver on the idea. As I wrote, the piece gathered personal meaning and led me to my own tale of artistic resolve.

Remixing Noisia has been an honor, and I'm presenting this piece to the world on top of seeing their support of my vision. Thank you for listening, and thank you for the memories.

"Insecure & Stockholm are two functional cuts inspired by the canon of UK dance music. I favored a stripped-down sound, which allows the manipulation and intentional design of negative space and low end weight. Nods were given to the characteristic sound of sampling found in UK garage, dubstep and club, while the music exists in an indeterminate point between the three."

This tune was one of the first big club tunes I really loved when I began paying attention to house music as a producer. There was something captivating and hypnotizing about the pace of the drums, vocals and that simmering bassline. In my opinion, I've given it a similarly seductive twist with dub-influenced drum and bass sounds soaked in reverb. If you caught my set at Outlook Festival in July, this is the tune that led into the drum and bass I played.
I could have easily kept this a dub for years but I'm giving it out in perpetuity to my Patreon supporters. Enjoy!
