In the Freedom EP, Blinded Theory together with NERV3 and 9THWAVE explore a kind of freedom that doesn’t always lead toward the light. Here, it’s the moment when the cage inside bursts open and the long-hidden beasts and shadows break free. Each track is a step down a narrow corridor where the walls vibrate under the pressure of the bass, and the rhythm tears through space like claws against steel.

This freedom doesn’t sound like a promise of peace, but like the instant you stop fearing your own monsters and let them speak for you. Melodies intertwine with dense percussion, building a pressure that grows until inner chaos transforms into an energy powerful enough to destroy everything around it.

Kicking off this 2 track stormer is TAUNT. A rough terrain rugged riddim that will cause a riot on the floor. Heavy kicks and slamming snares gets intwined with stabbed out twisted bass notes that will turn your stomach inside out, while the pitched down vocal runs along with the groove of the track to make it that edgy, dark dance floor anthem. Already gaining attention and support from the likes of DJ HYPE, HAZARD, GUV, ANNIX, TURNO, NORTH BASE, TYKE and many more key players in the game. Another tune to be a big contender within the jump up Drum & Bass scene this year. DO NOT SIT ON THIS ONE! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Moving to the other side now and we have the sounds of WILE OUT with it's laid back melodic intro to get the show started. Soon as it gets going, the WILE OUT vocal starts pulsating throughout over the luscious soundscape layers that builds up too this dance floor destroyer. Once dropped all hell is let loose as we get to hear Heavy well produced drum programming over some dub wise bubbling basslines. Trust me, these guys are not messing around. Be sure to keep you eyes on these guys with more music forthcoming on the label.

As the grassroots, independent sector of our Drum & Bass scene continues to flourish and develop, we’re treated to a consistent stream of new, exciting talent who are constantly bringing new ideas and sounds to our eagerly-awaiting eardrums. These are essential factors in any successful, culturally-impacting musical genre, whether electronic or more instrumentation-based; this is where that all-important passion is built from the ground up, and where the foundations for success and longevity are formed and cemented for the long-term.

One platform who’ve really been making waves recently is Midlands-based imprint Drippyboiii, who’ve been supplying some really spectacular sonic content as of late, locking down an eclectic mixture of ‘sauce, steez & sub-bass’. Their lauded weekly mix series, ‘The Drip’ has seen the likes of IndiAlman, Scudd, Poach and Obscura through the Drippy door, whilst Turtleneck & Madrush MC, Error, Axis, Sematic and more have supplied popular free download drops for the masses. Now, they’re taking the next, logical step onto official, paid releases, upping the levels yet again. You heard it here first - the Drippyboiii level-up starts now.

Presenting the second volume of their ‘The Art Of Blending’ series, the crew embark onto pastures new with a 3 track selection that features some of the brightest sparks about at the moment, namely Caramel & Madrush MC, Neman and POSK. All three tracks absolutely slap, hitting hard in the stacks, and we’ve had the pleasure of bringing you an exclusive OTW Premiere of the latter’s supreme effort - ‘Fresh Out’. The heavily-supported, Birmingham-hailing POSK has really been cleaning up since he was brought to our attention, arriving with a fully-stocked, brandished arsenal of evil, poisonous sound design and a crisp, sub-low production aesthetic. We’ve witnessed him link up with the likes of Disrupta, Mr Traumatik and Nautika, and recently heard him on remix duties for Hexa’s, tastefully reworking his Audio Addict-lick ‘Barge’.
