трип 006 is an album constructed with the songs of a varied collection of artists; fast and furious rhythms at times exceeding 140 bpm, live cuts, tracks with a song structure. 

“The idea behind the album was born the other night from a very broad conversation I (Nina) and Tombo had on the way people form their opinions and criticisms. That opinions are reflecting the inner world of the people who criticise and an opinion should be based on something… what it depends on and how this process has to do with growth, knowledge, self assurance and self improvement. That all things are relative and all eyes are different. That in the end it’s important to grow and shape your opinion, make up your own mind. This was the point of inspiration for Tombo - his artwork representing two worlds and two young boys who are affected by the ‘outside’, controlled and manipulated. One manages to escape by shaping his own desires, growth being a matter of choice. Learning that what enables one to see and understand more, is the freedom from anyone's opinion but your own.”

трип 006 continues the tradition of gatefold double EPs as conceptual album. All tracks are selected around a particular story, a trip, and presented as a continuous sonic landscape. All tracks are structured in a way that they can be mixed one with another an endless amount of times making a continuous loop, a trip, that needs only end when the party stops. Kraviz works without release dates or deadlines, enabling her to achieve a certain sound bank to shape the story, unmasking the thoughts and unravelling like a dream.

Patrick Topping returns to Hot Creations with his 'Taking Libz EP' and demonstrates why his reputation carries such weight with three special tracks that act as a master-class in how to create music that will consume dance floors.

First up is 'Brayed' which takes the listener on a loopy and enriching journey, whilst 'Howk' is a classic foot-to-the-floor number. Concluding the EP is 'Taking Libz', the title track that sees Topping firmly hold onto his crown with this unstoppable cut.

i-D Magazine described Patrick’s style "that is characterized by punchy, chugging baselines that have become weapons in the sets of many a DJ." Started his career DJing at the club night Motion in Newcastle, he was quickly snapped up by Jamie Jones, for Hot Creations. Releases on the label and a residency at Paradise DC10 in Ibiza soon followed and 2014 saw him release ‘Get Beasty’, ‘Forget’ and ‘Voicemail’ featuring Green Velvet and concluded with a hattrick of awards including winning the DJ Mag Best Newcomer, Track Of The Season and Best Tune awards in their Best of British Awards.

John Monkman makes his debut on Noir Music and this guy has been on my radar for quite some time now due to releases on Kompakt, Crosstown Rebels and Get Physical. I got the Trusting Source track about 6 months ago and basically signed it after one listen. Since then both John and I have been road- testing, talking about the track and John has been adjusting the track to dancefloor perfection. In the process of it all I suggested John that he made a 2-tracker instead of a single release of Trusting Source. He knocked me off my feet with first listen of Lacquer which is another genius piece of music from the London-based producer.Both tracks are super groovy. Trusting Souce being the classic and timeless effort and Lacquer the more experimental and forward thinking piece.Hit play and check out this fantastic double a-side release.

2016 was a standout year for Alan Fitzpatrick, with the Drumcode stalwart racing out of the gates in spectacular fashion with the release of his fabric 87 mix. A substantial amount of high profile shows followed, including appearing at the inaugural Junction 2 festival and closing the car park to a packed-to-the-rafters-crowd at Drumcode Halloween. He returns to Drumcode with ‘Brian’s Proper Dun One’, marking his first appearance on the label since late 2016 when he remixed Moby’s seminal ‘Porcelain’.

The release opens with ‘Brian’s Proper Dun One’, a track which caused a Twitter meltdown on Alan’s profile when he first started playing it at the tail end of 2016. Loaded with sharp and pounding drums, this is an ethereal experience from start to finish and packs a real punch. It’s a no holds barred, certified main room anthem. ‘Wait A Second’ feat. mc r1bbz has been a staple of Adam Beyer’s sets of late and has been getting a lot of air time on Drumcode Radio. This rave inspired track takes a raw, stripped back approach and delivers a real killer blow. Alan sampled the vocals of mc r1bbz from an LTJ Bukem tape pack from the early 90s and the record tips its cap to early jungle raves around the M25. The release closes with ‘Trance, Init?’; A homage to Alan’s days first and foremost as a raver before he became a DJ, with his non-purist attitude when it comes to electronic music shining through. The breakdown is sure to be a hands in the air moment at festivals all over the globe this summer.

Drumcode continues its commitment to releasing the scene’s most cutting-edge techno. With releases this year already from Adam Beyer, Pig&Dan, Alan Fitzpatrick, Dense & Pika and Julian Jeweil, this July see’s the return of Enrico Sangiuliano with ‘Astral Projection’.

After his remix of Moby’s of ‘Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad’ back in November last year, Enrico sought creative inspiration from his travels, transcending that into his productions and long studio sessions during the winter months. The result brings a mind and body melting release from the Italian producer.

The title track ‘Astral Projection’ is a captivating, big room techno masterpiece. Deep reverberations punch alongside a sinisterly crisp percussive drive. Launching into a groove laden synth modulation of low end textures, it breaks down into an ethereal amalgamation of pads and synths before the vocal launches, taking this track to another level.

‘Blooming Era’ has destructive dancefloor intent. There is no holding back with the low end synth modulation which Enrico has mastered to perfection. A tightly woven percussive flare moulds flawlessly with the rolling oscillations of the beast of this track.

If you have seen label head honcho Adam Beyer playing anywhere on the globe in the last 5 months, this has been a peak time favourite. Road-tested to the max, and with much success.

Arriving as the third outing of Len Faki’s recently established non-profit platform LF RMX, these previously exclusive edits take on a raging classic by courtesy of Frankie Bones, godfather of the North-American rave scene.

The new Hardspace Mix bolsters up the characteristic vocal and synths for even more frantic effect but trades in the percussion for Faki’s signature assault of claps and hats. These also dominate the stripped-back Hardspace Tool, which carefully builds momentum only around the sirens and some seriously sizzling low-end rumble. Both of Faki’s personal mixes capture the orignal’s raw energy, yet manage to appear in both sleek but powerful presence.

As with all releases of LF RMX, the proceeds of this record will be donated to the Berlin charity project Straßenkinder e.V. to be used in actions against child poverty.
