Every now and then in life, something special comes around and you just have to treasure every second of it. Right now, that special something is Techworld. Whether you’ve heard the talk or seen the tatts, this special Sunday is the celebration of tech to end all celebrations of tech. Miscellania, 7am - 1am, with what has been an unceasing selection of Naarm, Eora & abroad's finest (deejays and attendees).

To celebrate such, we’ve snagged this incredible live recording from none other than brains trust Chaz, 1PM-4PM on the 13/3/22. A lovely guy and exquisitely talented deej, we hope you treasure every second of the best house/tech house, sliced up by broken beats and electro - right until the recorder couldn't take anymore.

The ever charismatic and talented FB Perimeter ( @fb-perimeter) graces the Animix this week with a classy vinyl blend of house, minimal & grooves. 
Finn started off in the nation's capital, as one of the brains behind Canberra's favourite music spot, Sideway.

Relocating to Melbourne pre-covid, Finn helped massively on the Inner Varnika team this year.. He's now on to bigger and better things in Paris, no one can stop him!

Animix Eighty Nine: FB Perimeter

Estimulo is an avid record digger and die-hard music aficionado, with extensive vaults of records since the late 80s.

His weekly Radio Show (EstimuloShow @ mixomat.org has been on since 2007, also available on Cashmere Radio since 2017) is regarded as a mainstay by many people in the scene. Marathon live streams are very regular in his Berlin basement, because he want to be sure that the DJ real expresses their art!

Some guests that has been invited in his radio show are names like: Flørist, Hashman Deejay, P Relief, C.K and the co-founders of Acting Press: PLO Man and C3D-E.

Estimulo used to co-run the futura event agency and DJ crew, who has been causing some stir in the Berlin scene with their proceedings in beloved underground spots like ://about blank, Paloma, Horst and Chez Jacki/Maria am Ostbahnhof.

A masterclass in heady house grooves by Aarhus-based tastemaker C.K. We’ve been pretty intoxicated by the way C.K has put himself on the map. Operating under a cloak of mystery, the Aarhus residing DJ and producer has carved out a little niche corner with his Safe Distribution crew when it comes to making classy and well-thought-out house music - stuff that we personally keep coming back to and consider “timeless” goodness. Just back from his US tour, we caught up to hear about his latest developments.

#107 from Berlin based, China born Carly Zeng ( @carly-zeng ). We met while I was in Berlin over the summer and after checking out some of Carly's mixes, mostly vinyl only, I was so impressed. Carly's style oozes class, with an eclectic old-school steeze, blending breaks, trance & electro effortlessly.

Carly now runs her own party in Berlin, "dissident", and plays frequently around Berlin & surrounds.

Kim has been touring discotheques as a clubber since before most of us ever heard a techno beat. She was a regular dancer at Cherry Moon, Fuse, P3P, Food, and Silo to name a few classic Belgian clubs and party concepts. She smoothly and slowly observed how things flow in clubbing land, and after all those years she got behind the decks (decks that her husband G. gave her as a present!) and became an excellent, very precise deejay with a selection full of deep, floaty techno grooves and sometimes organic ambient excursions. Her 10 hour-long “More is More” mix she recorded as a live stream (accompanied with visuals by G.) during the pandemic is already a (local?) classic mix that has often been put on at afters-without-turntables. So while this mix is definitely shorter, it’s even better in its own way! Kim has also been helped us with the Basic Moves online communication and now sends out the newsletter, we secretly call her kim.com.

An all-star selector who builds sets from the underground up, Chaz is a deep digger, classy collector and all-round purveyor of rare finds and classic tracks from the bygone eras of house, techno, trance, electro and iterations in-between. Having played host to international artists including Kabuto and Mark/Klon Dump under the Syrup Records banner, Chaz is well acquainted with throwing a damn good party. In more recent times, Techworld (run alongside @sandpit_alias) has risen like a technicolour phoenix from the ashes of lockdown to cult-like status. As the scene’s taste for faster tempos grows and accelerates, Techworld offers monthly reprieve from the chaos by taking us back to basics. Good records, long sets, a rotating roster of the country’s finest DJs and a custom ENM Research mixer coalesce (with a few blue drinks) once a month at miscellanea to give us 18 hours of unadulterated afterhours hedonism. Chaz joined me live in the PBS studio for Passing Notes episode 187, but here we are lucky to hear a 1 hour guest mix recorded live at Techworld.
