Wake me up when september ends x ice heart {mash up}

This month on A--Z we are diving into the watery world of artist and DJ Selica.

This mix is a cathartic fusion of cavernous reverbs, lush pad layers, undulating FM textures, and trance-inducing loops – all glued together by transient rhythms and percussive hits that all seems to come from the same universe despite the mix’s diverse range. Dream-like transitions carry us through a montage of oscillator lullabies, many of which are reminiscent of early ambient experiments from artists like The Orb and Jan Jelinek; though this mix never loses its contemporary edge…we're using laptops to make music now, after all. In any case we would love to hear this out loud in a cathedral, no matter the era.

Based in Brooklyn, NY, Selica is also part of the newly formed duo Admiration, whose debut single is out now, with more releases to come. [Check them out here ↗]
