This song I wrote for a good friend who got married several years ago. It comes straight from the heart (and from experience). I've since sung it for several of my good friends, and am ready to unleash it on the inter-webs...

My mom has been asking me to record this song for a good long time (probably so she can share it with her Facebook friends... one reason this is just a demo). 

Someday, this will make it onto a jazz album I record. Ah, someday :)

In the mean time, if you are looking for a wedding song to sing, feel free to borrow it (non-commercially of course) as there is no way for me to track down song poachers at weddings!

I couldn't help but sing this Bessie Smith tune in the shower this morning... with images of washed out bridges, floating houses and swamped sports arenas going through my head.

My heart goes out to those grappling with the realities of extreme weather... more of which we will see with increasing frequency due to climate change.
