04 Marry Me a Little (feat. Hugh Panaro)

Based on the 1912 Jean Webster novel, this beautiful 2-person musical is currently touring regionally throughout the country. We're hoping to see it land in New York at an Off-Broadway theatre sometime in the next year. I've done the arrangements and orchestrations for piano, bass, drums, guitar, violin and cello. Its a wonderfully moving piece - I can't wait for more people to know more about it. Music and Lyrics are by Paul Gordon. The role of Jerusha is played (and sung!) by Megan McGinnis. 

05 I Couldn't Know Someone Less (from "Daddy Long Legs" )

The title song from the musical by writer and composer Paul Gordon. "Jane Austen's Emma" received its premiere at San Diego's Old Globe Theatre last winter. We are looking forward to another major production of it this coming fall, in anticipation of a 2013 Broadway opening. This track is sung by Brian D'arcy James (currently starring in "Smash") and my orchestrations is for piano, oboe, cello and keyboard. 

08 Emma (from  "Jane Austen's Emma" )

Brad Haak is a New York based pianist, conductor and orchestrator. He is the music director and conductor for Disney's "Mary Poppins" on Broadway.

As music supervisor and orchestrator for LA-based composer Paul Gordon (Broadway's "Jane Eyre") Brad has overseen productions of his "Daddy Long Legs" (written with and directed by "Les Miserables" director John Caird) which is currently touring the nation regionally and "Jane Austen's Emma" which, last winter, received its premiere at San Diego's Old Globe Theatre and aims for a 2013 Broadway opening. 

These tracks, from Brad's recently-completed orchestrating demo, aim to show the breadth of Brad's orchestrating and arranging abilities as he continues to seek new collaborative opportunities with both theatre artists as well as with people in the symphonic pops and concert worlds. 

Tracks 1 - 4 feature a 38 piece orchestra, recorded at MSR Studios in New York City.
