i wrote a poem. this is me reading said poem. thanks to michael cera for the background music.

we are drawing beauty, soft,
with each new breath on 
the bank of the ohio river.
the water hums lullabies in orange, in
yellows, in pinks. my 
wish to you on this night is
that you always feel bathed in
pools of starlight, sunlight,
moonlight, my sweet. that you
will let my love water
the parts of you where
flowers do not grow. that
i can write you honest love poems,
place them in vases and
leave them to bloom on your kitchen table
for a rainy day, peace of mind

our echoes are growing louder now. we
are watching satellites pass 
over the hushed bridge. 
you touch me and i do not flinch; i 
do not falter. this 
tastes like knowing. like
healing, like wine, like
leaving and coming home and
remembering what it's like to
hold the rose but lose
the thorns

you leave the petals in a trail
on my skin, kissed into
the nape of my neck, and 
i am not afraid. we name every color
under the gentle moon and
i am falling now, soft, whispering the sound 
of your name into my
