Presenting the debut Outtallectuals EP from the Le Comte Champêtre project by French musician, Pacôme Nivon; ‘Ephemerides’ is a 5-track journey representing the change and characteristics of seasons which is being released on the Winter Solstice. The EP starts with ‘Iarnă’ to signify the winter, taking inspiration from Romanian communist music, with the participation of Lea Clement on the violin. 

‘Por El Rio Va’ is inspired by Gamelean Indonesian music, and takes place between winter and spring to represent the melting of ice running down the mountains.The jazzy tones of ‘Vorvakning’ symbolise the jubilance of natural renewal with upbeat concepts, while the warmer Balkan / Middle Eastern tones of Alsayf take us into the summer heat. . Certain motifs in Alsayf are inspired by El Hilwa Di, a composition by the music of Palestinian artist, Ramzi Aburedwan. 

The EP closes with Hovvi Mazurkan which returns the saudade of shortening days in Autumn, utilising a 7/4 edition of a mazurka groove, settling the album back to the origins of its cycle.

ABOUT THE VA:
The Vishnu Purana (Viṣṇu-purāṇa, विष्णुपुराण) is one of the eighteen Mahapuranas, a genre of ancient and medieval texts of Hinduism. It is an important Pancharatra text in the Vaishnavism literature corpus.
The manuscripts of Vishnu Purana have survived into the modern era in many versions. More than any other major Purana, the Vishnu Purana presents its contents in Pancalaksana format – Sarga (cosmogony), Pratisarga (cosmology), Vamśa (genealogy of the gods, sages and kings), Manvantara (cosmic cycles), and Vamśānucaritam (legends during the times of various kings). Some manuscripts of the text are notable for not including sections found in other major Puranas, such as those on Mahatmyas and tour guides on pilgrimage, but some versions include chapters on temples and travel guides to sacred pilgrimage sites.
The text is also notable as the earliest Purana to have been translated and published in 1840 CE by HH Wilson, based on manuscripts then available, setting the presumptions and premises about what Puranas may have been.

The Great Mystery is the latest full length album by the Desert Dwellers, and it is truly a jet setting piece of work. The 12-track collection was predominately recorded on the road, in airports, airplanes, and hotel rooms and finished in multiple studios in multiple countries. Even the live recordings were done with various musicians and singers from around the world in rooms ranging from Berlin to Santa Cruz over the past 2 years. This release is a special one, because it’s the first fully realized album of all original music that Amani Friend and Treavor Moontribe have produced together, even though it is the 8th full album in the Desert Dwellers catalog, along with countless singles, eps, and remixes. 

The title of the album is derived from a Terrance McKenna quote, “Life is like a moment, we’re born out of a mystery, and we die into a mystery.” The duo notes, “Life and Death are great mysteries and we felt that was a pretty amazing theme to go with.” The album also features a talented cast of collaborators including Rick Hunter playing Oud, singer Megan Chandler, violinist HÄANA, Ixchel Prisma, Anuradha Genrich, and a host of others. The duo also worked with notable engineers including Torin Goodnight (Bird Of Prey), Benjamin Last (Temple Step Project), Yulu Fershtat (Perfect Stranger), and James Lumb (of Electric Skychurch Fame) who did analog summing that really transformed the sound quality of the album. 

The diverse recording locations are just as mixed as the albums vast range of musical inspirations. The pair’s musical palate spans from classical world music to psychedelic rock, all forms of hypnotic deep electronic music, reggae and dub, to pop and everything in between. The duo enthusiastically state, “Its always been a dream to create an album that embodied many of the styles we resonate most with, and The Great Mystery is that album!” They add, “When it comes to electronic music we have always refused to be ‘genrefied’ and this album goes on the complete journey from our classic tribal downtempo grooves to tribal techno, psychedelic trance, dubstep and ambient, all under one unified sound.”

III: Autumné is designed to take you deep into a full-spectrum sonic meditation, composed at 432hz. For an initial exposure, try the hi-rez audio file on some quality speakers with a subwoofer, or on really good headphones. Close your eyes and drop into the otherworld. I infused this Episode with deep and lush fall sounds, and the mood of the changing of the seasons from autumn to winter into to hibernation, peace and quiet. Autumn brings inspiration for change and transformation. I recorded violin, vocals, and incorporated electronic production on synths, deep bass frequencies, muted heartbeat drums and sound effects. I also recorded sound effects from the hills of northern California: crunching leaves, waving grass, and wind textures and bird songs.

III is 10 minutes long--perfect for a #take10 meditation, a little background music for studying/writing, or chilling out at the end of your day. The deep bass frequencies ground you and the textures tie you into the inspiring autumn emotions of change and transformation. You know that you've meditated exactly 10 minutes when the track is up (no need for a timer, or for your brain to worry that you've sat too long or too little.)

Try this for a week: meditating to III: Autumné every morning (or evening) for 10 minutes. If you have breathing techniques or deep relaxation tricks you normally use, bring those into play, and let your mind melt away on sound. And see how you feel.

New to meditation? Here's some further guidance to get you started:
1. Carve out 10 minutes of your morning. Choose a comfortable seat with feet flat on the floor. 
2. Get ready. Put your headphones on, close your eyes, and take a few deep breaths. Relax.
3. Press play on III: Autumné and relax into the sound frequencies. Bring your awareness to your breath and the music. After your sound journey, take a few more deep breaths, gently open your eyes, and see how you feel.
