The Colombian born, Israel based artist makes electronic music that breaks boundaries, moves feet and twists minds. Since first emerging in 2016 Golan has won over progressive music tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, while landing standout releases via Beatfreak, Clubsonica Records, Or Two Strangers and Proton Music. A well received rendition of ‘Roads’ by Portishead marked Golan’s debut on our free download series in 2018, and now as 2021 winds to a close, he returns with an equally sought after, indie-dance revision of Sinead O’Connor’s hit ‘All Apologies’. Pictured is my brain tumor, wrapped around my right auditory nerve.  It was recording these a cappella covers that I discovered it-- the pitch was off in one ear.  Fast forward many years, and radiation took most of my hearing in my right ear, and altered the pitch even more.  This song was my attempt to not let the challenge beat me.  My pitch wavers slightly, but I am learning to embrace imperfection. Thank you for listening to my love of singing.

A few months ago, I hit up Micah Van Zandt and suggested we do some covers of a band we both like - T. Rex - to help clear a creative logjam we were both suffering from. The homie was immediately all for it and got right to work on a few deep cuts, and after a few evenings of hard work, we were able to get two of these done by Marc Bolan's birthday! Crazy.

"Hang-Ups" features one of the best guitar solos I've ever played, and Micah's take on "Cosmic Dancer" is indeed cosmic. Maybe people will like this!

Micah played the piano and the lead and background vocals. I played slide guitar, synth bass (in lieu of him having synthesized cello on a short basis I could play) and did some background voices.
