As we listen to this track the world changes from sharp colour to blurred shades of sepia and grey. Taking the pretend new wave of White Wedding and twisting it in something darker, pushing it off MTV and into a dark nightclub, where the hustlers and the dreamers slow dance to corrupted waltz tunes. Interpol would be impressed, though this is not New York, but old Europe flirting with new sounds. For those who crave a touch of gothic in their Rock n Roll, this stays utterly modern at the same time

"A sultry swampland of immersive melancholy, noir kissed beauty, and bewitching almost sinister drama."  

Dark and feral songs full of irony and social criticism tell of love, murder, and failed politics.  The dark soul of Hackmonocut's music comes along with a familiar feeling of melancholy in his voice, driven by humming, distorted guitars creating Hackmonocut's special kind of alternative rock noir sound. 

Started in 2012 as a single man show and released his debut album 'In The Land Of Basement Hobby Rooms' with 11 tracks and the video to the song 'Virgin Suicide Bomber', visualizing one of the darkest tracks of the album in 2013. 

Followed by Hackmonocut's 2nd solo album 'The Sum Of My Parts' in August 2015. This time tracks focused more on love and murder than on politics, which made the 2nd album sound a little less raging but overall darker than 'In The Land Of Basement Hobby Rooms'. Sometimes you could even hear a little waltz noir in 3-quarter-time among uncompromising dark alternative rock noir songs.

Hackmonocut's gloomy and cinematic video to the song "The Ripper" even grabbed the attention of independent film festivals.
"The Ripper" has been screened at various international festivals such as NYC Independet Film Festival, Wasteland Film Festival, Vienna Independent Film Festival, to pick a few. 

After changing the band's formation in late 2015, Hackmonocut is back on stage with a redesigned live show, tempting their audience to dance with the dark soul of Hackmonocut's alternative rock and waltz noir. They produced extra videos visualizing every single song of their live set to create a very special dark and gloomy atmosphere. 

Additionally the band started working on a 3rd Hackmonocut album scheduled for 2017.
