Nightcolours begin 2023 with bang courtesy of Greek producer Hacobb who makes his second appearance on the label with the Hyacinth EP. 

Opening proceedings is Eos Chasma a deep and driving affair stuffed full of distorted synths, snarling bass and rattling percussion. It’s moody, mean and magnificent! 

Next we have Hyacinth, this little gem is packed to the brim with smiles. The pulsing bassline, shimmering vocals and urgent drums drive this one ever onwards towards melodic goodness. 

Orizondas is up next and it’s a heavy hitting monster with huge drums and the melodic line to match. 
Taking on remix duties is Hungarian producer Yöurr who delivers a stunning rework stripping things back and ratcheting up the tension.

Bio:

Hacobb is an underground dj, producer & designer currently based in Athens. With mixed origins from Scotland & Greece and constantly moving places in his childhood, James found true home to electronic music. Influenced by early trance and prog era, Hacobb productions balance between the lines of progressive house and techno with a focus on abstract atmospheres, driving chord progressions and chunky percussion, to create a blend of timeless melodies & feelings. In his dj sets he wishes to engage the listener-passenger on a deeper mindset, while through different stages of emotions lead to a cathartic experience. Hacobb recently released his debut EP on TH;EN’s ‘Mogador’ imprint followed by a 4 track EP on ‘Another Life Music’ and has a steady schedule of both original releases and remixes lined up ahead. The journey has only just begun.

Blaufield Music reveal the second edition of their FOURTUNES series this May, welcoming Casper Cole, Blaktone, Philipp Straub & Hacobb to the label. Launched in July 2019, Blaufield Music's FOURTUNES series - curated by label bosses Booka Shade - sees the iconic duo shine a spotlight onto four rising talents or artists of note from across the globe. Following the success of the first installment, 'FOURTUNES 2' welcome a fresh selection of names in the form of Casper Cole, known for his 2019 collaboration with Elderbrook, rising Russian duo Blaktone, Bedrock and Ovum artist Philipp Straub, and Athens-based talent Hacobb this May. Casper Cole opens the package with the electrifying 'Fader', fueled by uplifting tones and deep melodies alongside powerful basslines, whilst Blaktone introduce hard-hitting drums on 'Hypernova', powered by murky synths and sharp snares. Next, Philipp Straub's cut 'Powwow' marries organic percussion licks with soaring melodies and bright leads, before closing via Hacobb's 'Kite', merging atmospheric sweeps, driving builds and low frequencies to round out proceedings.

Argentinian duo Biotech Patagonia return on Moonchild Records after having debuted on the label last summer with their remix for A Skitzo's Against Us single. This time they carry the weight of a solo release titled 'Iceland EP' which features two originals + two remixes by Hacobb and Unseen.

The title track is a mysterious, deep and melancholic piece of work featuring a beautiful eerie vocal. Modern Agenda / Blaufield / MNL artist Hacobb takes the deep and dark sound of the original but turns it into an uplifting, intelligent progressive house mover, whilst the Unseen. duo goes for a more stripped down and intense approach.

Tassilo is the second original by Biotech Patagonia. A melodic techno track full of interesting sounds and a proper builder, very mature sounding!

His debut on Canadian label Modern Agenda turned heads and the big man Sasha had his track ‘All That Injures Lies Within’ on heavy rotation around the globe. Solid releases on labels such as Collective States’ High Tide Recordings and Paul Hazendonk’s Manual Music came next, before dropping a single on Booka Shade’s mighty Blaufield imprint, while keeping busy on remix duties for various projects. It wasn’t long after the legendary Pete Tong introduced Hacobb to the BBC Radio 1 audience with his track ‘Kite’, also receiving warm reaction on Days Like Nights radio shows by Dutch hero Eelke Kleijn. More support on his ever expanding discography has followed from the likes of Hot Since 82, Petar Dundov, Anthony Pappa, Nick Muir & Karotte just to name a few.
