Song For Patroclus (Extended Mix)

This is just a quick demo of some pad sounds I made with Analog in Ableton a few years ago. As with most synths, the presets it comes with don't really do it justice. Analog's a wonderful sounding synth when you put some time into programming it.

I've worked long and hard on this mix while fighting insomnia for weeks now. Hell, I've never worked harder on any arrangment and/or mix, and learned a great deal out of it. Anyway, here it is...

Despair (Insomnia Mix)

Love (& Death ?) Under Water... Felt like doing another soundscape piece for ages, so I finally collected a few of my clips again and mixed them into a track. It's quite the trip, so sit back, close your eyes, and enjoy !  ;)

Underwater Love

A quickly made cover of (and tribute to !!) Whirlpool Productions' timeless classic, with background noise directly recorded from the playground of the St Norbertus school. The slightly out of time (and out of tune) singing was also done by the girls of the St Norbertus school (thank you !!). The result is far from perfect, but we had a LOT of fun, as I'm sure Justus Köhncke and his friends had when they made the original judging by how messy their singing sounds... :)

Mauno Koivisto and Hades spent a lovely 2 weeks together in the studio : drinking beer, spanking each others asses and making music. :) 
This is one of the first tracks we finished. There will be more in the near future...

Song For M

This is Live's Analog creating the pad sound. I just put a quick kick and sub underneath (I know they are not correct, but this is not the point of this exercise).
First 2 times you hear the chord progression I used outboard EQ and my Biscuit for the distortion part (hence the never ending hiss), 3rd time I just used a SW plugin.

I did NOT bother to get the distortion on the pad 100% exactly the same, I just fiddled away...

This track is a small tribute to a time when people were still able to discuss things freely. As long as it was done in a respectful manner, any kind of topic could be open for discussion. Things must have seriously changed in the mean time, because nowadays people are more worried about being "politically correct" than they are busy discussing and/or handling the real issues/problems in our current society. I seriously preferred the old "freedom of speech" days, tbh... But anyways, I hope you can enjoy this one... ;)

I try to make music with a certain soul, so atmosphere, general mood and melodic content will always be preferred above big impact stuff... 
Not all electronic music needs to be about huge impact, and not all producers need to care about their image. 

If you can't laugh with yourself, someone else should do it for you ! ;)
