3 QUESTIONS to KATE ZUBOK:

Q: Let's get into the mood for your mix. Why did you choose these tracks and what do they still mean to you today?

A: These were the first electronic tracks I had heard at an early age (4-6 y.o.) and got the most impressed from. To me they will always remain very special, as they are representing ageless, provocative and soulful, energizing and nostalgic sounds, which remind me my careless childhood.

Q: Do you still play some of those tracks in your DJ sets now?

A: Yes I do! And I love how the energy immediately rises when I play them. Music is like a time machine, it can bring you right back at the time when you first heard it. I also like to play old tracks because I was too young to rave on them when they came out.

Q: Which future Zubok projects are on the way?

A: I’m currently working on preparation for live performances and other new interesting projects. I’m also hoping to finally release my first video clip in the beginning of the new year, which I'm preparing already since a very long time.

Djappa is a DJ based in Berlin. Through his passion for clubbing, Djappa grew an obsession with Djing, started to develop his musical taste and compiling playlists. After moving to Berlin, Djappa started exploring the clubbing life of the renowned city of techno. Finding a perfect environment and community strengthened his desire and detected his path to transform his energy into music. His passion continued to grow, leading him to become the head of the party series "Elastic Bazaar". From Tech House to Melodic Techno, his euphoric melodies lightens his deep basslines through the dance floor. By then, a pure love and a real connection is built with his crowd.

MaJa – oh jaaa! :: wippte bereits als Baby im Laufgitter und verliebte sich in Techno im Dauerrambazamba und Lichtbeschuss der grossen 90er Jahre Raves: Der dritte Raum, Sven Väth, Jeff Mills, und viel später Rosanna von «Les Belles de Nuit» inspirierten MaJa dazu, sich selbst an die Controller zu wagen.

MaJa liebt es, im Hier und Jetzt zu sein und sich ganz in der Musik zu verlieren. Sie strebt nach ausgeklügelter Balance zwischen Master und Servant oder dark und bright. Darum geht es MaJa in ihren Sets: Immer auf der Suche nach dem glitzernden Tanzmoment. Sie möchte Klanglandschaften verweben, wo die Musik für die Tanzenden vorhersehbar wird, damit das Gehirn ein Glückshoch feiert und in gleicher Weise mit Überraschungsmomenten die  Neugierde wecken – oh jaaa! MaJa gibt Tanz-Seelen die Möglichkeit zu baumeln und schafft es auf ihre einzigartige Weise, trippige Grooves in hypnotischem Techno mit strahlender Freude zu übergiessen. 

MaJas Sets sind vielfältig und erzählen Geschichten - von Ekstase bis Introspektion, von heller Euphorie bis dunkel- mystischer Deepness. MaJas Sets werden regelmässig erfrischt mit zahlreichen unveröffentlichten Tracks des Künstlers https://soundcloud.com/beatiq. Diese tiefe Beziehung inspiriert beide zu Höhenflügen: mehr Techno geht nicht. MaJa spielt feminine Techno-Vibes mit viel Glitzer, die unter die Haut gehen – oh jaaa! 3 QUESTIONS to SEVERAL DEFINITIONS:

Q: Listening to your mix is a showcase of your influences. So the early 2000´s formed your music?

A: Yes mostly. I discovered the electronic sounds in those years. Trance melodies have influenced me in what I like to produce today.

Q: You´re living in the french part of Switzerland. How would you describe the electronic music scene there?

A: Difficult! Unfortunately, It's hard to have support in the region. Unlike the German side where people are much more into the electronic scene. I hope that this will change in the coming years.

Q: Your release output is huge, having only strong releases on big labels. So what can we except soon?

A: Currently I work a lot on my first album, which will be released on Stil Vor Talent, a Berlin music label. The album will be very personal and will produced on various influences. Besides that, I 've done some remixes and a big collaboration with Marc DePulse! I leave myself time to find the right labels.

Biografie
Mr. Mosebach, finest Halle (Saale) year of 1979, spins the wheels and enchants the people with his sound for more than a decade now. Hagen’s broad musical spectrum ranges from minimal-techno, deep tech to sensitive house and deep house. He always aims for telling a story from past and current days. As the “Papa” of Herzensangelegenheit, Hagen and his crew also organise open airs and create wonderful stages for festivals throughout Germany (i.e. Tag Am Meer, Oewerall Festival, Keep Yourself e.V., Zug der Liebe).
