"Jai Ganesha Deva" is a devotional hymn sung by Hindus to appease one of the most popular deities in the Hindu religion, namely Lord Ganesha. It is believed that if you pray sincerely to Lord Ganesha, he will remove all obstacles in your life and bring you prosperity and fortune.

Jai Ganesha Deva (Hindu bhajan)

All the instruments (except the drums) were recorded by me on my synthesizer. I programmed all the drumbeats myself (with samples, of course, since I don't play real drums). The beats were heavily inspired by Marky Ramone's drumming style. I wanted to keep the beats simple to let the song breathe and speak for itself. The original song is an interesting mix of sexual desire for latin women and religious innuendo, with references like "Maria", "Ave Maria", and the church/Christmas bells that are occasionally heard throughout the song. Instead of trying to mimic the bells on my synthesizer, I added some hallelujahs from Handel's "Messiah" to the chorus, in order to mimic the original song's nod to Christianity.

All the instruments (except the drums) were recorded by me on my synthesizer. I programmed all the drumbeats myself (with samples, of course, since I don't play real drums). At the beginning and at the end of the song, I tried to imitate a heartbeat rhythm with the kick drum. The other beats were inspired by reggae drumming, but since I don't know much about reggae drumming, I kept them pretty straightforward and simple. I also attempted to add some reggae chords and rhythms to the track. At the end of the song I added some vocal riffing to the closing phrases as well.

A Good Heart (Feargal Sharkey cover)

All the instruments (except the drums) were recorded by me on my synthesizer. I programmed all the drumbeats myself (with samples, of course, since I don't play drums). This was by far the most difficult song for me to mix at my current skill level, since there are so many subtle elements to it. I don't think it's perfect, but it's the best that I can do right now, and I'm still learning new things every time I cover a new song. I added in some "Word Up!" gang shouts from the original song for flavor.

I decided to apply some strange effects to the vocal melody lines in the post-production phase, because I was having trouble getting them to properly cut through in the mix. In hindsight, this type of experimentation could be seen as a tribute to Peter Gabriel's spirit. He has been on the frontier of experimentation throughout his career. I also added in a few "shocks" by Peter Gabriel himself.

I played everything on my synthesizer. I added reverb and a few other effects in post-production.

This song is an absolute masterpiece of a composition - it almost reminds me of some sort of baroque classical piece when heard like this. Absolutely beautiful. I strongly urge you to check out the original song if you don't already know it - it is an amazing song.

I recorded everything on my synthesizer. This time I used no effects, so it's a completely 'dry' recording. Some of Suede's material is unbelievably good - you just have to love the fantastic guitar playing paired with those gorgeous vocals.

Lazy (Suede cover)

I made this cover for two reasons:
1. When my dad was young, Meat Loaf was his favorite artist.

2. This is an absolute banger of a song. The brilliant composition by Jim Steinman, coupled with the awe-inspiring vocals of Meat Loaf and the fantastic guitar playing by Todd Rundgren, all combine to make for an absolute rock classic.

Obviously I cannot replicate the amazing guitar playing by Todd Rundgren, but I hope you'll enjoy the cover nonetheless. I think it has a different flavor when arranged in this way - almost like an old school arcade tune.

Bat Out Of Hell (Meat Loaf)

I went crazy with the effects on this one as a fun experiment, and as a learning experience. Take a ride with me through space - high as a kite.

Rainbow In The Dark (Dio cover)

This is a cover of an amazing and trippy song, originally performed by a relatively unknown Danish band (called "Sort Sol"). "Sort Sol" translated into English means "Black Sun". Here is a fantastic live perfomance of the song, by the original band:
