NYC’s nightlife muse Sausha unveils debut EP on Halcyon Veil, a sonic homage to her latin roots, underground rave culture, and life experiences.

New York City’s underground icon and DJ powerhouse Sausha (a.k.a. Sausha De La Ossa) is set to release her debut EP on forward-thinking experimental label Halcyon Veil. The Colombia-born, Miami-bred, and NYC-based artist has long been a defining force in the city’s nightlife, blending dark techno, ambient, and Latin club into sets that have earned her a cult following. Now, she translates her boundary-pushing sound into a body of work that’s as personal as it is incendiary.

The EP is a culmination of Sausha’s journey—a sonic tapestry woven from her Colombian roots, growing up in Miami, and a decade of refining her craft in New York’s underground. “The EP combines all of my influences up to this point,” Sausha explains. “From the classic Latin music of my childhood—salsa, cumbia, reggaeton, champeta—to the chaotic energy of American subcultures and experimental electronic music, this is a reflection of the people and moments that shaped me.”

Drawing inspiration from industrial punk pioneers like Atari Teenage Riot (whose vocalist Hanin Elias is sampled on the EP), Death in June, and Chaosy, Sausha’s debut is raw and unapologetic. The lead single ‘TRAMPA (COAST)’ releases with a music video, a glimpse into her alluring world.

While she has established herself as a NYC favorite and recently graced Boiler Room’s screen, she has also toured in Europe playing at the likes of Evian Christ’s Trance Party and Club Stamina in London, Herrensauna and Creamcake in Berlin, and beyond. Her sets, described by FACT as “a high-velocity rush of sleaze, sweat, and sirens,” have cemented her as a global fixture in the experimental club scene.

Sausha - SAUSHA (HALC040)

Evermore is Bapari's most vulnerable work to date; an EP that marks their debut as a vocalist. Across four tracks, they explore dislocation, identity, and emotional survival through a fusion of trip hop, shoegaze, R&B, and experimental electronic music.

Made in a period of self-reconstruction, Evermore pushes Bapari's signature production into new territory, weaving raw vocal takes into textured, genre-defying arrangements. The project builds on their background in club music while reaching toward something more internal and melodic.

Coming off the heels of co-producing the title track on FKA twigs' album Eusexua, Bapari continues to expand the scope of their work with this bold new chapter.

Rat Section - Shake It To The Edge

A chance meeting in Bucharest two summers ago saw Ratty Slay Johnson and Soopie reunite. It has been a much discussed topic amongst art and music circles as to how and why Rat Section abruptly fell into obscurity in the late 90s and up to this point their sudden disappearance remains a mystery.

Their sparse back catalogue seems inaccessible now. A dedicated collecting community known as ‘Club Rodentia’ sought to preserve their tape and vinyl output, amassing releases from Ratty Slay Johnnie’s sophomore release ‘Tails from Estonia’ to Soopi and Slay John’s last known excursion ‘Tashkent Knights’.

An unfortunate occurrence led to the destruction of this archive in 2005. Member of Club Rodentia Carlos Moscato was quoted in an article of NME magazine saying “In the dark of night, a fire emerged, I was responsible at the time for the care of the archive, as standard Rodentia protocol we would move the collection every 3 months, for both preservation and for local access to Rat Sections catalogue. On the final night of my duty I heard footsteps, a crash, and before my eyes years of hard work erupted in flames. Since this incident I haven’t found even a crumb of Rat Sections body of work and people say we will never see them again." Carlos Moscato was correct, until now.

Rat Section have been active for the last two years with appearances in London, Berlin, Malmö, Melbourne, Paris and Los Angeles, it looks like we are finally going to hear Rat Section again. They have found a home for their debut album on Halcyon Veil.

Rat Section are back in the spotlight.
