Half Baked records starts 2014 with a release from one of his most recently signed residents: Enrico Mantini.

Having been part of the deep house movement since its earliest age, djing since 1987 and having released on labels such as UMM or Traxx Underground among many others, we can consider Enrico as one of the European founders of the deep house movement.

His signature sound is raw, punchy and deep; a pure analog wave that immediately floods the dancefloor with good energy and euphoria. HB004 is no different. A three tracker sporting the Italian’s recipe for House: gangsta basses, rolling kicks, playful vocals and jazzy synth stabs. HB004 marks a detachment from the micro-house aesthetics of the first three releases, drifting towards an old school sound, while preserving the standard of quality associated with the Half Baked name.

The fourth instalment of Half Baked records is born under a good sign…the sign of dancefloor!

Emerging from the Romanian scene back around ten years ago as an accomplished DJ and producer, Bucharest's Funk E has been on a circuitous path since then, taking in gigs all over the globe as well as a residency at Underground in Ibiza. 

Despite releasing on a number of prominent labels, he's always kept a pretty small footprint; focusing on quality rather than pumping out a stream of tracks and mixes.  This one is no different and hints at an artist who's been steadily refining their craft.  In it you can hear the evolution of his sound; clearly with one foot in the Romanian landscape in which he cut his teeth but possessing an uncommon sophistication and depth.

Live recording of one of my two sets at seekers x Faciendo’s weekender this winter. A special moment behind the booth of my favourite dance-(but-not-too-much)-floor, with great friends by my side and many familiar faces from here & abroad or lovely strangers in front of me. A recording can hardly translate the cosy atmosphere and the warm and round sound of this room, but here is a good memory to keep on the cloud! Sorry for the few dusty needles in the first hour.
