Born under a full moon, set footprints around here
Took the tone of madness, and made it very clear
Worked hard on a get-by, gave Jesus a last prayer
Wrapped the gifts in chances to thank him for his care.

Could have told you life's not easy
Though it sometimes can even out
Catch a break at the next hoedown
Where you might hand someone your doubt
With your pocket full of change,
And my wallet full of plastic.

Small towns are the barroom, stand up or you sit down
All the stories told there, the paradise they've found
