Another collaboration with @peteswinton. Pete are working on album together where we are reworking/remixing each others tracks.

This piece manipulates an original piece from Pete that he called "Hiss Over Me". I took this track and placed into into an app called Borderlands (which is a wonderful granular synth app - of sorts). I then added some drones using two apps, one called Hillman and one called D1. A couple of Eventide Delay and Reverb effects were added to the mix as well.

No soul more loving or tender than mine has ever existed, no soul so full of kindness, of pity, of all the things of tenderness and of love. Yet no soul is so lonely as mine — not lonely, be it noted, from exterior, but from interior circumstances. I mean this: together with my great tenderness and kindness an element of an entirely opposite kind entered into my character, an element of sadness, of self - centredness, of selfishness therefore, whose effect is two - fold: to warp and hinder the development and full internal play of those other qualities, and to hinder, by affecting the will depressingly, their full external play, their manifestation. I shall analyse this, one day I shall examine better, discriminate, the elements of my character, for my curiosity of all things, linked to my curiosity for myself and for my own character, leads to one attempt to understand my personality.

It was on account of these characteristics that I wrote, describing myself, in The Writers Day:

A misanthropic lover of mankind.

I have, as a matter of fact, many, too many affinities with Rousseau. In certain things our characters are identical. The warm, intense, inexpressible love of mankind, and the portion of selfishness balancing it — this is a fundamental characteristic of his character and, as well, of mine.

Meu pensamento é um rio subterrâneo.
Para que terras vai e donde vem?
Não sei... Na noite em que o meu ser o tem
Emerge dele um ruído subitâneo

De origens no Mistério extraviadas
De eu compreendê-las..., misteriosas fontes
Habitando a distância de ermos montes
Onde os momentos são a Deus chegados...

De vez em quando luze em minha mágoa
Como um farol num mar desconhecido
Um movimento de correr, perdido
Em mim, um pálido soluço de água...
 
E eu relembro de tempos mais antigos
Que a minha consciência da ilusão
Águas divinas percorrendo o chão
De verdores uníssonos e amigos,

E a ideia de uma Pátria anterior
À forma consciente do meu ser
Dói‑me no que desejo, e vem bater
Como uma onda de encontro à minha dor.
 
Escuto‑o... Ao longe, no meu vago tacto
Da minha alma, perdido som incerto,
Como um eterno rio indescoberto,
Mais que a ideia de rio certo e abstracto...
 
E p'ra onde é que ele vai, que se extravia
Do meu ouvi‑lo ? A que cavernas desce?
Em que frios de Assombro é que arrefece?
De que névoas soturnas se anuvia?
 
Não sei... Eu perco‑o... E outra vez regressa
A luz e a cor do mundo claro e actual,
E na interior distância do meu Real
Como se a alma acabasse, o rio cessa...
