Program Notes:

'The Merope Nebula, NGC 1435 in the New General Catalogue, is a faint reflection nebula and suspected supernova remnant located in the Pleiades cluster. The nebula surrounds the star Merope (23 Tauri), after which it gets its name. It is the brightest reflection nebula in the Pleiades cluster and is also known as Tempel’s Nebula – it was discovered by the German astronomer Wilhelm Tempel from Venice, Italy on October 19, 1859.–  NGC 1435 covers an area of 30 arc minutes in size, which corresponds to a linear diameter of 4 light years. In the next several thousand years, the nebula – or what is left of it after the encounter with Merope, which is eroding the interstellar cloud– will move on past the star.'

It's the half term school holidays in the UK this week, I'm sitting at home with two young kids and I read this email from Naviar for the Haiku challenge as it pops into my inbox.  I love the image this haiku creates. Outside my window at home we have tree branches that are winter bare. I was filming these the other day for another project. 
I had an idea for the music straight away - a 'bare' sort of sound to reflect the image of branches.  I started on this straight away. The kids are happy playing so I progressed and made this in about 2 hours.

I'm happy to finally release my first debut EP.

I wrote it 3 years ago, in spring 2020. I was inspired by my hometown — Pavlovsk, Russia, where I spent my lockdown during the Covid pandemic. I was trying to create something simple, but beautiful, cause my main goal in art is ti bring in the world as much beauty as I can.

So, now is 2023, I left my homeland and my life completely changed, so this release warms me ap with good memories from the other life and puts an end to my desperate times in art, because I became more free and I'm going to create a lot of stuff in the near future.
