A celebration of dance music culture, each of these heavy-duty, titanium-plated bangers are a tribute to different styles of beats, reinterpreted and suffused with his distinct personality.

Sydney based producers JV & Palf today share their debut 'Wren' EP, an engaging, pulsating and genre-pushing release, and the most recent signee to October Records.

With a pressurised sonics and galloping percussion, EP opener "Don't Stop" leaves little room to catch your breath. A serious club workout with playful overtones; it works manipulated vocal samples over a wall of low end that demands attention. Second track "JBNT" explores a use of space to find it's pulse, utilising a cutting edge UK-sound palette. The EP rounds out with "Gully"; an addictive percussion workout primed for the dance floor.

JV and Palf were already fans of each other’s individual work - JV releasing under Plantlife and Palf under IljusWifmo - before meeting at a warehouse party in 2013. From there, they started sending tracks back and forth to each other online until they finished one song, which quickly turned into the Wren EP. JV (Corey Furey) & Palf (Max Palfrey) still rarely write music in the same room together, sending stems until they have something that is worth meeting up over, before putting final touches on.

“Cheese as it is, we basically communicate through the sounds… this approach allows the music to go in different directions without either of us getting caught up in our ideas. The other person might just delete it all and do something different.” JV & Palf.

Soon to be some of Australia’s favourite creators of forward-thinking club sounds, JV & Palf’s dynamic collaboration shines in their first release on October Records.

Danish duo Lyra Valenza (aka Hjalte and Jens Konrad) operates on the outskirts of contemporary electronic dance music. Armed with a playful approach and a patchwork of digital and analogue equipment, Lyra Valenza carved their own space in the Copenhagen scene by genre-blending Jungle, UK Garage, and Footwork into a mix of forward-facing and euphoric dance music for 2020 and beyond. A testament to the duo's unique approach to sound design, they were selected for this year's SHAPE - a platform for innovative music and audiovisual art from Europe.

Lyra Valenza's latest EP, Nightshade Edition, is a package of sweet and dangerous cuts to the taste of dystopian romance. The prime dance floor material hits with metallic percussion and bursts of fluttering synths tuned with just the right amount of trance. From stepping UKG, to lush digital soundscapes, the four breaks heavy tracks are hyper-modern sonic experiments processed through a retrospective haze.

The Nightshade Edition EP is released on Lyra Valenza's own Petrola 80 label. It follows their 2018 debut EP "Scan Deliver" on UK imprint Opal Tapes and comes as a welcome return from the energetic producers.
